Positive: I liked this little hotel overall. It was quiet, really clean, and in a great spot. I really like the key code door entry system versus having to carry a key. Very convenient. I appreciated the cart of “extras” setting in the lobby since it wasn’t staffed. I was able to pick up the extra towel and wash clothes I knew I would need for my stay as well as other supplies were available. Considering we were told before booking that the hotel was undergoing re-model, I was shocked at how clean and neat our room, the lobby and the stairways were! I couldn’t tell whether my room had been remodeled or not, except the pictures indicated the rooms were going to the vinyl wood-plank flooring. I thought the carpets in the stairwells and rooms was plenty clean and comfortable. Check out was super easy on Sunday morning.
Negative: I was a little disappointed it didn’t offer any travel brochures about the covered bridges or provide any information about the covered bridge app since it was called “Covered Bridge Inn”. I arrived just after the front desk closed, so calling in to get my entry code was not a bad way to go. I was disappointed that the breakfast room only had two sets of table/chairs, but ultimately that’s all it needed. Very disappointed the room only had one chair at the table in the room. (We moved the table to the bed so I used the side of the bed for my chair.) Could have bacon as a breakfast meat option, but otherwise breakfast was a surprise! I thought when I booked this hotel did not offer breakfast, and at check in, they said they offered a continental breakfast. So that was great!

Negative: Let’s start with security. The outside door that you are supposed to have a key card to get in would not shut all the way so anyone could come in. The staff that was there when we arrived were very nice. The second day my wife wanted a second blanket and we needed more toilet paper and they very quickly got those items for me. As we engaged them in conversation about their garden on the side of the building they even offered to give my wife some green tomatoes when she commented on them. Very nice people. Breakfast is from 6-10 am and I was up for taking advantage of it but was very disappointed. When I first went down around 7:30-8, I had to ring the bell and apparently wake up the attendant to ask for a fork to eat the waffles, which I had not planned on eating, but were very good. I was going to have eggs, but was very disappointed in them. The eggs were scrambled egg whites and there were sausage links, which was good, but seemed a little old. Since I anticipated the eggs would not be that good I put some sausage and gravy on them for extra flavor—that was a mistake. Not only were the eggs bland, the sausage and gravy had the consistency of snot or glue and did not taste good—that is why I went with the waffle. I used nearly all of the syrup from the remnants of the two bottles and enjoyed my waffle. As I came back down to get my wife some cereal to take back up the breakfast area was closed and locked—at 9:00 am when it is supposed to go till 10:00 am. So I rang the bell and woke up the young woman again and asked why it was locked. She muttered something about only having two rooms occupied and opened up the door for me. She left and I turned on the lights and decided to have another waffle as well as get my wife some cereal. While waiting for the waffle maker to heat up again I thought I would watch the TV, but it did not work. While waiting I also turned the syrup bottles upside down to be able to have enough syrup for my waffle.
Summary: Great rooms and greeting staff, but extremely disappointing breakfast.
