Immerse yourself in the easy charm of Southern Wisconsin living at this countryside cottage, newly renovated and beautifully situated with views across the scenic Baraboo countryside. Summer or winter, this quiet home makes a beautiful base for family-friendly adventures.
This two-story farm home sits six miles southwest of downtown Baraboo, looking out across the surrounding hills. You'll be only eight miles from Circus World (celebrating Baraboo as the historical home of the Ringling Brothers) and nine miles from Devil's Lake State Park with its 360-acre lake, 500-foot quartzite bluffs, and nearly 30 miles of hiking trails.
Begin each summer day on the deck with a cup of coffee and a view of the rural setting. It's the perfect spot to return to in the afternoons to barbecue, dine alfresco at the table, and admire the golden hour light.
Exposed ceiling beams bring rustic charm into the living spaces. Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table where you can set up board games after dinner, and a smart TV to screen your favorite movies on DVD. If you require internet services, the Internet is NOT available. We provide a good number of DVDs. The bedrooms are upstairs, with a Pack' N Play and a booster seat for your littlest travelers.
Things to Know
This is a much-loved older building, (a 170-year-old restored grainery on a 125-acre farm). While we work very hard to keep the place clean, it’s possible you may see wildlife in the yard and the occasional outdoor insects making an indoor appearance. If that makes you squeamish, this is not the booking for you!

Summary: Beautiful and secluded location in an old farmhouse. Close enough to the Dells to make it convenient, far enough away to avoid road noise and other people. As it is an old farmhouse, there are critters in the roof and on the grounds, but given the choice between sharing a farmhouse with shy rodents and sharing a hotel floor with other people's wet children, I will take the rodents. Beds and bath were clean and comfortable.

Summary: A really cool converted building on a property with beautiful views. Perfect for a nice getaway/weekend away. The pictures are true to space -- it's a fun spot with a nice kitchen, comfortable couch/futon for watching movies (the wifi was not the best, but there are DVDs at the location or you can bring your own), and the beds were comfortable. It's nice that there are two bedrooms (you do have to walk through one get to the other as an FYI, not a detraction) We had coffee and read on the deck each morning and evening and the weather and the view were perfect. It's an easy drive to Devils Lake for hikes and within easy driving distance to a winery, grocery store (we picked up food to make, too) and the state park. It's a rural location so we didn't have cell reception much and the wifi was spottier than expected (even rebooting didn't help for long) which we knew would be the case, but I recommend a router update might be needed and use the search/offline maps when you do have service.

Summary: We enjoyed the peaceful, tranquil setting. The mowed paths were appreciated to do a bit of exploring. The house if very cozy and is amazing how you tranformed a barn style into a super cute place to stay!! Glad we brought mosquito spray. We enjoyed the grill too.

Summary: Views are great with a cozy space. It was perfect for our needs. Wifi was not great though. If we had access to steam music or look up restaurants from our rental, it would have been great!

Summary: Loved the views & the massive lilac bush! Nice quite area with a lot of opportunities to spot wildlife. Nice little kitchen & good A/C so cold I had to wear my hoodie! Good hot water through out including shower & kitchen. Good pillows & bedding.

Summary: The cabin was nice in terms of furniture and suit our needs as three adults well. It was quiet, and we had easy access to Devil's Lake and downtown Baraboo. However, when we went this property was having an issue with Japanese ladybugs, and we had to frequently vacuum up dozens of ladybugs ourselves. We were not sure where they were coming in from or if perhaps there were eggs in the cabin. The wifi was also not reliable and frequently dropped, which can be an issue if you don't have cell service in the area and need access to the internet.
