Summary: Nous avons passé quatre jours très agréables à Vigoleno.

Summary: If century-old charm, authenticity, and nature excite you in travel, then VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno is for you. Surrounded by an orchard, vineyards and a castle, this 400 year old property and its lovely and kind proprietor, Alessandra, offer a location that won't disappoint. Borgo di Vigoleno feels like a hidden gem in the beautiful Parma region. Visiting there is as if a relative has welcomed you home. There was farm-fresh produce on the table and recommendations for local markets, restaurants and tastings. My family of four (our kids were 9 and 12 at the time) came to VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno the first few jet lagged days after flying from Colorado and it was the perfect place to just be and soak in Italy for the first time. The natural beauty of the region is spectacular and we loved just driving around and exploring. The closest town was, I think, 8 miles away and it was easy to stop in any local restaurant and find amazing food (eg fresh produce, cheese, prosciutto, and pasta!). The one day trip we took was to Maranello to the Ferrari factory. We stayed in VRBO Listing #476304 Borgo di Vigoleno instead of staying in a hotel in Modeno (since you have to get two rooms anyway with four people) and I am so glad we did. The proprietor, Alessandra, has created a wonderful retreat.

Summary: We stayed 10 days in Vigoleno,in this 1600’s house, nestled in the Duchy of Parma & Piacenza. The place was adorable and there was nothing you could not find. Our host, Alexandra, was there for everything we needed or wanted to know and we got to understand her love and care of her horses. The area has 24 castles and we challenge everybody to try and see them all...we were not able to do it as there was just too much to see. Our camera run out of space but we have wonderful memories! Thanks Alexandra for sharing with us your wonderful world. Best wishes from both of us.

Summary: Despite our late night arrival Alessandra was warm and welcoming. The living space was beautifully prepared for our very short stay. The property is well taken care of and peaceful. We ventured to a couple of small towns nearby on Alessadra's recommendation and had a wonderful time experiencing true Italian culture. We had 2 young girls with us who could have sat in the garden and watched the horses all day, but we dragged them up to the castle (2 minute drive) where they were blown away by the view. I prefer Italy this way. Quiet town where you run into a local wedding, speak with the church's priest for hours, get invited to view the inner-workings of local restaurants, and head back to Alessandra's to feel at home in a place you wish you could stay for years, not just days or weeks. For a more practical review of the property I will say that everything worked as it should and for the first time in my Italy travels the beds were not hard as rocks which made for a restful sleep. We're going back for a longer stay hopefully within the year.

Summary: This tranquil place set amongst beautiful rolling hills was the prfect place for our family. Kept in original condition, it is true to its Italian roots. The host is a delight and can point out wonderful places to see, eat and drink int he region. It is located an easy drive to the Cinque Terre coast, an easy, hassle free train ride to Milan, and so many other delightful towns nearby. You would kick yourself if you missed out staying in real Italy.

Summary: We loved our stay at the farm house. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and very pleased with our holiday location. The house is packed with history and very cozy. The bedrooms were large with lots of character. The views of the Italian hills were breathtaking as well. Alessandra is an excellent host and was very help full. We will be telling anyone we know who is traveling to the region about this little gem. thanks again Alessandra for the wonderful time!

Summary: This is a gorgeous, peaceful and charming surprise. It's a perfect place to discover a beautiful area with day trips: cities, towns and castles, really a lot of things to visit! The apartment was clean, confortable and with beds of a very good quality: a fusion of the old and the new with many personal touches that make it feel like at home. The garden offers extra speace with a marvelous views of the valley and pastures. The owner Alessandra is very nice and frendly. I highly recommended it.
