Positive: Very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. Breakfast (and dinners) were served outside as the weather was really good. Not a wide dinner menu but the food really was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We chose the location primarily because it's very close to the Airport and we had a very late arrival time - however, we have no hesitation in saying we would stay there again, simply because it's great! The 'Country Club' facilities (mainly the pool and snack bar arrangement were also excellent.

Negative: The proximity to the airport meant that there was occasionally quite a bit of 'Take-off noise' but not enough to stop us going back some time.

Summary: Only had a short time there but very enjoyable with good food and attentive staff

Positive: This is a lovely old house, refurbished from a shell many years ago. While a quality renovation at the time, it's now a charming time warp. The elderly owners and dogs welcome you with smiles and good English. The room was comfortable and clean. The gardens are charming. Nature is all around. Swallows nest under the eaves. Walking around the garden at night we heard an owl and frog-song. There is a huge pool complex, not operational at the time of our visit but once obviously a popular club. Once working it would be amazing. Beyond the pool is a meadow with a curve on the river and its own boat dock, Venetian style. We felt it could be a birdwatcher's paradise. It was very convenient to get to the airport as the owners offered a shuttle. They also cooked us a pasta meal with salad. The panna cotta was amazing.

Negative: Sadly the house is right under the flightpath, close to Marco Polo airport, so noisy, although the planes do stop at night. There was a young lad to help with luggage when we arrived as there is no lift and we were put on the second floor. He was gone the day we left so had to haul it down again. The meal options became confusing, with them showing a restaurant style menu which was strangely ignored in favour of pasta. Although they clearly know what they're doing, I fear maintenance of such a large place is becoming too much for the elderly owners.

Positive: Mrs. Roza (Rose) is an excellent owner who speaks at least seven languages (Italian, English, Russian, Croatian, French, Portugal, Spanish, etc.) Her advices were very helpful to understand Venice and its surrounding areas. She is a very friendly person who is eager to help to her customers all the time.

Negative: It was mostly rainy these days. But it is not connected with the hotel itself. :)
