In the very quite countrysite you find an old farmhouse with a fantasic seaview, perfect for families with children, small groups or the lovely Holidays for two.
We renovated it for modern comfort but it is still a house with original character.
Hiking and discovering, enjoying nature, exploring the real life like the Azorian, watching the whales, taking a break from everyday life, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, preparing fresh fish on the barbecue or having a nice meal nearby, a good book borrow from our library (German) and enjoy nature in the garden, there are so many possibilities. If you have any questions, the local administration can always help you. We recommend that you book a rental car at the airport.
Directly at the house but you can also explore the island without a car and just take one of the countless ways up the mountain or down to the village and continue to the cliff. Even the direct ascent to the caldera at 1,000 m altitude is possible.

Summary: We traveled with a large group and this was the only home that could accommodate all 7 of us. The owners reside in an adjacent home on the property. They were there if we needed anything but did not intrude. We had access to a washing machine, and the home has a bathtub which several of us enjoyed. The views from the property are incredible and you have a large outdoor area with a picnic table and BBQ. Definitely a rustic home with lots of old world features. It was challenging to cool down but I believe we had unusually warm weather. We purchased two fans and had to keep the doors and windows open and it was still quite warm in several of the rooms throughout the night. Leaving everything open invited a few unwelcome guests in (mostly crickets and beetles). Ants were also a challenge, don’t leave anything out including fruit. Mornings greetings from roosters and cows, no alarm clocks needed.

Summary: We can't thank Birgitta and Horst enough for their kindness and welcoming spirits. Their home was lovely with a wonderful view of the sea and special garden areas to feel like home. They gave us tips and tricks to ensure we had a lovely time on Faial. We would stay again anytime.

Summary: The house is located on a hill and the neighbours are mostly farmers. The house offers all necessary facilities and as a guest you can also use its beautiful garden. A small supermarket and a baker are within 5 min driving distance. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and gave us some good suggestions for trips to interesting places and for nice hikes. If you like a relaxing holiday in the Faial countryside we can recommend this house.

Summary: My family and I spent 3 nights at the property and we enjoyed every single moment of the stay. The house is beautiful and full of history. In the morning we could hear cows and chickens. Very relaxing.

Summary: We enjoyed everything about the property. The only minor inconvenience was that we could not flush toilet paper, however we understand as it is an older system. We greatly enjoyed our stay and the property owners were extremely friendly, welcoming, attentive and responsive.

Summary: We spent one week in Cedros early December 2020 and enjoyed it. The house has a lot of charm. It has stunning views on the sea from all the livingroom windows. It was vast enough for our (adult) children to be able to work "at home" with a good wifi connection. Altough it is obviously more of a summer house, there is a stove to warm the livingroom and plenty of wood was supplied. Other gaz or electricity heaters provide warm in the other rooms when necessary. We enjoyed the walks in the beautiful landscapes of the island and the cosyness of the return "home" to enjoy a good read by the fire.

Summary: This property has a perfect location for anyone looking to feel the quietness and beauty of the combination Azores countryside / Atlantic blue and Faial Island. Only 15m away from Horta (the island main city) allows for the complete discovery of all the main attractions. Great outdoor grill and support dining table at the garden with breath-taking sea / countryside views. Fully equipped. Congrats to the owners on the amazing reconstruction job!
