Cozy two bedroom cottage with a deck right off living room to enjoy the view of the lake and your morning coffee. Sand Lake County Park is located two blocks away to put your boat in. This is a classic Michigan inland lake, 102 acres, all sports with great fishing. The Cozy Cottage is one of four properties we rent out and is close to another cottage which are both located directly on the water.

This cottage is good for four, but it can sleep up to six. There are two small bedrooms, plus a queen sleeper sofa in the main living area as well as a futon sofa. One bedroom with full mattress and one bedroom with atwinbunk bed.The kitchen allows for meal preparation for dining, and an outdoor grill is also provided on the attached deck.Nice view of the lake and deck facing the water. WIFI and smart TV with Hulu, PhiloTVand Disney+are included. Family games are also provided.

Located in Amish country. Just 30 minutes to Shipshewana for flea market shopping (May - Sept.) and great Amish culture and cuisine. Yoder’s Country Market a 4 minute drive towards Centerville. Great golfing nearby with Island Hills Golf Club being just a 6 minute drive and St. Joe County Golf Club less then a mile away. Swiss Valley Ski and snowboard area 34 minutes away for winter time fun!A well stocked convince store, Sand Lake Grocery, is just a block away and sells amazingly good brats and ice cream! A definite must.
Paddle boat, row boats, paddle boards and kayaks available for free but are shared among all cottage guests. As well as a water trampoline (May-October), life jackets and yard games available also. All 3 docks are shared andavailable for guests to use. The Lakefront is a common area. We also have a large fire pit in the common area. Please enjoy! BYOW :)

The lakeis clean and not excessively "weedy". There are no lilly pads. My kids love jumping right off the dock!Property does have a cement seawall at the water. If you prefer a more "beachy" experience, there is a sandy beach located at the county park just a few blocks or kayak ride away!

We do allow pets with a $50 per pet fee which must be collected separately after you make your reservation. Please include the size and breed of your pet when making your reservation. You will also be required to agree to our pet policy.

This is a cottage righton the water of a small lake. Itis close to its neighbors and the other cottages we own.Please be aware this is a lake cottage and is close to other cottages! Please review pictures to see proximity of other cottages before booking.

All guests must be disclosed and on your reservation! No parties or family gatherings are allowed. The lakefront is for registered guests only. We do this to keep the swimming area uncrowded and enjoyable for all of our guests. If your reservation is for less then the allowed number of guests at your cottage then you may request to have visitors (only up to the allowed number of guests) but permission must be obtained before hand. If you would like to have a family gathering we recommend Sand Lake County Park. Unauthorized guests will result in a $100 per day fee.

If you would like early check in or late check out I will do my best to accommodate. There is a fee of $20 per hour. Please be aware that it takes up to 3 hours to clean and do laundry in between guests so availability is subject to prior/future guests requests.

Damage deposit is just a pre-authorization on credit card and is automatically released 5 days after departure.

Summary: It worked fine for us for a very winter getaway and is close to Shipshawana which is what I wanted. It is cosy so if you are looking for something spacious not the place.

Summary: Cottage was clean, comfortable and attractive. Well appointed kitchen. Host is responsive. Beautiful view of large lake out the front door. This was our third time staying at The Cottages. Hope to again.

Summary: A comfortable retreat from the city life and if you are needing a little R&R, this is the place to be. The owners were very friendly and so helpful with any questions we had. The lake view was breathtaking. Forgot there was no dishwasher but turned out we did ok without it. Went to a sunflower patch at a nearby farm, enjoyed the kiddy size ice cream at the store. Not to mention all the fresh meats you could use for the grilling and than there was the ice cream. Wow you have to get some when you visit. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and water activities available for us to use. After a day on the water sit back and enjoy the stars around the fire pit. It was what we needed. Ahhh it was hard to leave this peaceful place. Thank you Jenny for sharing such an amazing place with us.

Summary: Overall it was great. Would have liked to have left the door open for fresh air but it wouldn't latch. The place was cozy and the lake was clean. Did a lot of catch and release, fishing was great. Would and will recomend

Summary: The cottage was fantastic! Right on the water with all the amenities. Sand hill grocery is in walking distance and has amazing meats and their famous ice cream cones! Location is less than 40 min from Kalamazoo and only twenty minutes from Broadway Meyer park which has multiple hiking trails and a massive dog park, which our pups loved! For food, the Local has amazing pizza and also sells carry out beers from local Michigan breweries! Book today for a wonderful getaway!

Summary: Pros: great amenities (kayaks, paddle boards, etc) were easy to use and access, shaded deck with nice chairs and table, lake was clean and clear with sandy bottom. Dog friendly. Cons: air con was in living room and bedrooms got stuffy and humid, bedrooms were smaller than I thought they’d be, double bed mattress needs replaced (you roll to middle), shower was tiny and shower head was low for tall people. This would be a good place for young families to enjoy a lake vacation but our family of adults found it a bit rustic and some inconveniences like the small shower and bad mattress will send us searching for a different place next year.
