Positive: Our host, Karen, was the most welcoming, friendly and helpful host that we have ever had staying anywhere. She was a pure delight and we look forward to meeting her again one day. The accommodation fitted our needs perfectly with having two loos, and was very close to RAF Coningsby and East Kirkby for our events and to Thorpe Camp; it was spotlessly clean. It was also very peaceful. Karen had thoughtfully provided apples from their orchard, their own honey and lovely flowers on the table.

Negative: Perhaps the kitchen could do with a soup ladle, large slotted serving spoon and large unslotted serving spoon included in the utensils as the wooden spoons weren't really suitable for dishing up food. A better cheese grater would be a help too as the one provided is very bendy and small. Mirrors were all a bit high for taller people but the stool in front of the long mirror solved that. Being a basket case around spiders, at this time of year there were a couple of uninvited guests, but this couldn't be helped and these were dealt with!

Positive: It was a great location with interesting landscape. The accommodation was superb. It was comfortable, cosy and had all amenities to hand. It was close to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Tattershall Castle, Lincoln city so it was easy to visit and explore all of these and more. Lincoln is 'steeped' in history! It was captivating and the guided tours were well worth doing at Lincoln Castle and Cathedral. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Bomber Command were excellent as were the guided tours.

Positive: One of the best things for us about the property is the convenience of the location, as family only live about 5 minutes away. But nothing beats waking up in the countryside to sheep grazing outside the window and no traffic noise at all!

Negative: Nothing really. I’d say that some of us found the mattresses uncomfortable on the first night or two, but this is a personal preference and we did get used to them after a few nights, so ended with a much better sleep.

Summary: Peaceful, relaxing break in the countryside.
