This fully furnished waterfront home is within sight of the Cape Lookout Ferry Service and just minutes away from Cape Lookout. Great access to Core Banks to enjoy the beach for sun and waves or fishing and hunting. Friends and family can lounge in the over 2400 square feet of living space or on the 200 SF sun deck overlooking the water. Park your boat at the property's private dock after a day on the water!

Using the regular coffeemaker or Keurig, start your morning with a cup of joe on the sun deck. Overlooking the water, watch the pelicans, ducks, herons or sea gulls while enjoying the pleasant breeze coming from the Core Sound. Try the hammock. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins playing or the occasional sea turtle.
Enjoy yoga on the sun deck or at the water’s edge (mats provided!) or sit on the dock and watch the sunrise.
Spend your afternoon on the sound, floating in the water, swimming, or using the kayaks provided. The kids will delight in being able to fish right off the dock, use a cast net or try their luck with crab pots (we have provided a couple). Catch a ride on the ferry or paddle on the kayak to Core Banks and enjoy the (arguably) best beaches on the NC coast. If you bring your own boat you can ride to the Beaufort waterfront for a dockside lunch. If you have your own 4-wheel drive vehicle you can ferry it across to Core Banks and ride to Cape Lookout lighthouse - if not, you can rent a Kubota in Davis or catch a ferry from Harkers Island to the lighthouse.
After memorable hours on the water, cook out on the outdoor gas grill, admiring the view with a drink in hand until dinner is ready. Or stay inside and whip up a fabulous feast in the fully equipped kitchen! During the meal preparations, your kids can watch their favorite shows on one of the 2 TVs.
Wrap up the day by riding the cruiser bikes around Davis and exploring. Watch the sunset from the benches on the dock or spend time playing some of the many games or enjoying quality time. The stargazing won’t disappoint anytime of year!

Summary: The view was everything. We could sit outside and look at and listen to the water for hours. It was secluded from the hustle and bustle, which we wanted. Very peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Summary: This house was perfect for our needs and satisfied our wants. From the interior decor and amenities to the perfect location. The fishing pier and dock are amazing and were used 24/7. We took the ferry over to the outer banks and had the beach to ourselves! The kitchen is fully appointed, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are like hotel rooms. The porch and landscaping made for a peaceful retreat. We had a blast and I totally recommend this home to anyone. Laurie is an amazing host who answered all my questions and I even got to meet her in person when she brought the crib for my grandson. It's all in the little details too, from the homemade chocolate chip banana bread, the pasta and sauce, and the guestbook. Well done!

Summary: We had the best time here! We absolutely loved our stay - from swimming in the sound, using the crab pots to catch crabs, taking a short drive into Beaufort to explore, and taking the ferry out to Shackleford Banks. The hosts were great and very responsive with a nice little welcoming gift! The house is very well stocked with just anbout anything you could need! We enjoyed using the bikes to venture down to the gift shop just down the street. We have told everyone about how much we enjoyed our trip here!

Summary: My family had a great time at the Core Sound Home. The home was spacious and very clean and neat. We had a ball fishing and crabbing and walking around the area. Waking up to the beautiful scenery and sitting outside on the back porch in the evening was great. We had a great time exploring Beaufort , Atlantic Beach and Morehead City. Such a relaxing and great home. Will definitely be back

Summary: We stayed at the home for four days for a family reunion with our seven adult siblings and elderly mother. The home was beautiful and very comfortable to stay in with all the amenities of home. We had a wonderful time sitting on the porch watching the moon rise in the evenings and the sun rise in the morning. The view over the sound was amazing. The area was very peaceful and relaxing, and wasn't prohibitively far from activities in Beaufort and Atlantic Beach. We loved our whole stay.

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying at the Ferry House. From the moment we arrived, it was more than we expected and a lot nicer than other properties we have stayed at in the past. The key to the door was easily accessible, and the information given before arrival was timely and thorough. The entire house was clean and well-appointed for our stay. The bonus banana bread and pasta/spaghetti sauce upon arrival was a nice surprise. The bread was delicious! We loved all the seating that was available in the living room space. There were six of us staying for the week, and at other properties we have stayed at, there were never enough seats for everyone to sit around and watch TV together. So it was nice that we could all sit down together. I do wish there had been tv's in the bedrooms, as we had children with us, it would have been nice for them to be able to hang out in their rooms while the adults watched tv in the living room. But that is a small complaint, and we made it work. We loved the extras provided: deodorant, face wipes, soap, trash bags, coffee pods, and so many other goodies that were a pleasant surprise. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Ferry House, and we look forward to a possible return in the future.
