Negative: The only thing would be that really not enough towel hangers and hooks in the room. Extra small sink that makes the water splash everywhere

Positive: The location, views, plunge pools and lounges.

Negative: Dinner (3 x tasting options) all 3 meals were brought out at the same time and were cold by the time we tasted. The local olives, bread & olive oil were the best part of the meal. The hotel informed me that there was electric charging for our car, but not that we would need to download a new app and go through that entire process to charge our car. I will not choose a hotel that doesn’t have an ‘unlocked’ available charger. And I would not have come to this hotel had I known this. The room (03) was extremely dark, the furniture was full of sharp corners and there was no safe for valuables.

Summary: Disappointed.

Positive: The location is amazing for those that like quietness in the 'Serra d'Aire e Candeeiros'. It's a few km from 'Grutas de Alvalados' (and the other 'grutas') and there are plenty of tracks for those that like walking. It is also very near the pituresque village of 'Porto de Mós'.

Positive: We stayed one night at the hotel for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I had let the staff know (on the day itself) and despite the late notice, they organised a great surprise: they had placed little paper hearts all over the bed, two Champagne glasses and a small Cava bottle in the fridge. Super nice, thank you!! About the hotel itself: the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay nice. The location is absolutely amazing, located along several hiking routes and close to several highlights. They also have bikes. The pool is really nice too (albeit cold!). Unfortunately the inside pool was still closed. The rooms are clean and well maintained, albeit not really our style in terms of decoration (but that's personal)

Negative: This hotel is typically a hotel that with a few adjustments could easily become a 9+ on Booking. These are: 1) The decoration is a bit over the top. Too many fidgety items. I think that reducing the decorations by half will give the hotel a way more classy look and feel. This is obviously a personal opinion (and probably more of a north european standard, although we have been living in Portugal for 7 years). You generally see that all 9+ hotels are slightly more minimalistic (Sublime, Quinta do Comporta, Casa Balthazar, Sao Lourenco de Barrocal etc) 2) The lighting at dinner is very bright white, almost neon. Changing it to warm white, would make a massive difference 3) There is no coffee or tea set in the room. That's not a problem per se. But for this price range, don't charge for coffee or tea at the self-help bar downstairs. This is not about the money, but this approach comes across cheap (see also other reviews). Better to just increase the room price a few euro. Also, for this price range I would expect high quality coffee from an espresso machine at breakfast (not just a pot of filter coffee)

Summary: Lovely, super friendly, well located hotel. Would be even better with some changes to the interior
