Positive: The history and revitalization of the property are exceptional that are the stage with exceptional detailing for an idyllic immersion in nature of Vila Nova de Cerveira and Alto Minho.
Negative: Convento San Payo is the “theatre of one’s mind!” Every scene, act, prop, actor-human, animal, stone, tree, flower, sculpture, arts, and fresh air to endless horizons are for the enjoyment of anyone willing to be present.

Positive: This place is paradise. The view is extraordinary, which you enjoy from the lovely pool. It has so much charm and history. The owners are the kindest people you can imagine. We had a delicious home made dinner in the lovely veranda. Breakfast equally good. Cannot recommend it enough.

Positive: A thoroughly delightful boutique hotel set high above a river valley with very interesting historical content. Rooms were large and comfortable with modern ensuite facilities. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice for a continental style meal. The approach up the mountain on a single track road was quite exciting at night and great views on the way down in the morning. The manager was an excellent host who went out of his way to ensure our stay was memorable.

Positive: Location is superb with breathtaking views and very quiet. Some of the food from breakfast is homemade (cakes and jam). Some of the fruit is also from their trees. We were impressed by the amazing art of José Rodrigues, the room was very cozy and has a nice design
