Positive: Breakfast looked great, plenty of sweet and savoury products. I also liked that you could choose what type of dish you wanted to eat and pay from the evening menu so you didn’t have to enjoy all 4 courses at dinner. I loved our room, beautifully appointed and cleaned every day. Well looked after by all the staff in particular Valero. The ambiance, the Convent building and warm welcome. A unique holiday experience thank you !

Positive: Very friendly and helpful staff!! Nice place, beautiful renovated building, great views, good breakfast and a nice heated pool.

Negative: Room is rather small, but that's just how the people used to live in the monastery, so it gives authentic feeling :-)

Positive: The history is the best part of it. The owner, Mariana, is spectacular and the place comes alive when she does the tour with us. The pool os also nice with a one-of-a-kind view!

Negative: The place is a bit far away from everything. We wanted to tour Pienza, Montepulciano, and other areas so it is ideal for one night only. We ended up staying three nights and thought it was a bad strategy. I’d rather stay in an Agriturismo in Pienza instead.

Positive: Stunning historical place, amazing bedroom and view, courteus staff. The on-site restaurant has really high quality food and also the barman at the pool made really tasty cocktails. The breakfast buffet was lovely, with a great variety of local and homemade food, and fresh coffee. It’s a great place to relax and recharge.

Negative: The baby cot costs 30 euros per night which we think is unnecessary.

Positive: It’s just a magically amazing place! Breathtaking view, pool with warm geothermal water, beautifully renovated ancient convent, where everything breathes with a history. Our room was spacious as well as the bathroom. Everything is very clean, food is delicious (we had breakfast, tried lunch once and had a dinner few times). The owners and the staff are very nice, friendly and helpful! We warmly recommend you to stay here!

Positive: Steeped in history - our tour of the convent was fascinating. The outdoor pool is lovely and hot with stunning views across the valley. Lovely traditional touches throughout. A real sense of peace.

Negative: Their website says "You will not find any TV in any of our rooms since we value the silence and the mystic atmosphere you can breathe at Convento San Bartolomeo" yet one evening there was live music in the bar until 11pm. Spa room was not prepared for our session. Thick rubber under sheet on bed.

Positive: Convento is an interesting property to say the least. The stay itself is really great and you can feel the history as soon as you see it, not to mention step in it. However then start the issues. 1. The staff seems to be new to the whole idea of working in a hotel like environment. 2. The prices and offer of beverages, food is non existant so you are left up with a surprise bill at the end of the stay. Needless to say the prices are heavily exagerated for them being sub-par in quality. Example 2 hot chocolates were 15 euros. 3. We booked a room with a jacuzzi, which leaked so we couldnt use it, as we didnt want to flood the room. Did it get fixed? No Did we get a discount considering our room was not what we paid for? Of course not 4. Considering that you are in a remote place, a very very small town Convento San Bartolomeo should offer food, snacks or anything to eat since the dinner is from 8pm so good luck eating between breakfast and dinner. 5. The breakfast is sub par if you are a person that doesnt eat pork, I understand that Italians eat pork en masse but a hotel or a business in the tourism area should be aware that people that dont eat pork also exist. 6. All in all the hotel has a nice perspective, but it needs some people knowledgable in the tourism industry to be in charge to really get it to shine. 7. One really great thing I will mention tho is the outside heated pool.
