A comfortable detached cottage on a private estate. Wonderfully quiet location at the end of a dead-end country road, just outside Montrichard. "Domaine Les Drageonnières" (4.5 ha) consists of two comfortable vacation homes (La Bergerie and La Ferme) and a beautifully situated, shared swimming pool. A very suitable place for two families vacationing together. But also great to rent individually.
The huge outdoor space offers plenty of privacy.
You will stay in "La Ferme" (in the middle of the aerial photo). The interior is neatly arranged and well equipped with contemporary comfort. The beds are 2.10m long and there are several bathrooms. From your furnished terrace you will enjoy the beautiful view over the meadows, forests and the Cher Valley.
Should you be able to detach yourself from this property, you will see that the surrounding area is definitely worth visiting. Montrichard (2 km) has a cozy medieval town center with one of the oldest castles in France. The castles of Chenonceau (12 km) and Amboise (20 km) are also impressive. In Bourré (4 km) you can visit old wine cellars. In Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher (20 km) there is a zoo. But also Tours (48 km) and Blois (34 km) are worth a visit.

Summary: Well located in the Loire Valley. Nice place to stay. Nina, who manages the property, was great and very welcoming!

Summary: The cottage is much bigger than the photos showed (we had the one closer to the pool) and Nina was really helpful. The kitchen is very well equipped, including herbs, spices etc. The only thing to be aware of is that the oven is actually a microwave/oven combination and you can only fit one oven tray in it when cooking, which is a bit limiting when cooking for 6 and needed some planning - but there is a big BBQ outside. The pool is very good for young kids with steps, a shallow end and gated. Its in a lovely peaceful setting, we saw deer and rabbits in the evening while eating outside. Amboise, an amazing zoo (Beauval) and several chateaus (Clos Luce is good for young kids) are all within 20-25 minute drive. You won't see everything in a week. For EV drivers theres a good charge point in about 1 mile away in Montrichard and also most towns in the area.

Summary: Les Drageonnières is een schitterend oord, aan het eind van een doodlopende weg, midden in en omgeven door prachtige natuur, bossen, wijnvelden, akkers. Vanaf het heerlijke zwembad (heerlijk toeven aan de rand daarvan) heb je een prachtig uitzicht over de omgeving. De wereld lijkt ver weg. Een oase van rust die prettig gestoord wordt door het gezang van leeuweriken, gekraagde roodstaarten en andere zangvogeltjes, het gekukeleku van een fazantenhaan, het geritsel van reeën enz. Geen blaffende honden! Via een prachtig weggetje langs de velden loop je in ongeveer een kwartier naar Montrichard en aan het eind van het pad sta je ineens weer in de bewoonde wereld. Daarna snel weer terug naar de weldadige rust van Les Drageonnières. Het huisje waar wij een week in zaten (La Ferme) is voor zes personen lekker ruim. De keuken is zeer goed geoutilleerd (o.a. twee ijskasten, een vriezer, magnetronoven, afwasmachine, wasmachine, eindeloos veel pollepels en ander keukengerei) en beneden is zitplaats te over. (We zaten overigens veelal buiten.). Goede matrassen en goede kussens, kortom alles perfect. Dat de wifi af & en toe haperde paste eigenlijk wel bij het gevoel even weg te zijn van het dagelijkse gewoel.

Summary: This is a real gem, a comfortable well equipped house full of character in a beautiful setting with stunning views and a pool. Walking distance to Montrichard with its shops and restaurants and well located for chateau visits further afield. We had a wonderful time here.

Summary: Heerlijk huis. Ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Zeker beneden goed koel te houden. Niet superstrak maar wel heel gezellig ingericht. Heerlijk zwembad en een prachtig uitzicht. Omgeving is meer dan mooi.

Summary: Bij aankomst werden wij ontvangen door de beheerder, een dame die zich voorstelde als de contactpersoon. Het hele huis doorlopen en gezien dat alles zoals op foto en omschrijving aan bezig was. Flesje in de koelkast, wij konden direct aan de slag.

Summary: De omgeving was de absolute topper. Geen geluid in de wijde omgeving als je het even stil maakt. Je kan er helemaal tot rust komen. Met de buitentafel onder de bomen achter de zwembadhaag ... Heerlijk is dat. De accommodatie is wel oké te noemen. Hoewel je wel hier en daar ziet dat het gebouw een opknapbeurt kan gebruiken. Vooral de keuken is fantastisch uitgerust. Ook de bbq buiten hebben we enkele malen gebruikt. De programmatie op de televisie is zeeeer beperkt en valt regelmatig weg. Dat is wel een tegenvaller. De kamers zijn zeer ruim met degelijke bedden. Het zwembad met licht zout water is fantastisch. Lekker groot en diep. Het afdekzeil van het zwembad met oprolsysteem is dringend aan vervanging toe. Het oprolsysteem kan precies elk moment uit elkaar vallen en de noppen van het afdekzeil komen allemaal los. Ze drijven zo voortdurend rond in het water. Met het schepnetje haalden we dagelijks wel tientallen noppen uit het water.

Summary: Voor ons de vierde keer dat we hier onze vakantie vierden. Ditmaal met twee kinderen (&gt3 jaar). Het blijft een prachtig domein, midden in de natuur. Het zwembad is heerlijk. De omgeving heeft genoeg te bieden, maar voor wie wat meer 'vast' zit aan het huis is (bijvoorbeeld ivm kleine kinderen) is dit huis en het grote omliggende (omheinde) terrein ideaal om veel tijd door te brengen.
