Gîte ‘Le Colvert’ provides affordable but comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people (more is possible), situated in 10 acres of unspoiled countryside and being formerly part of a working farm dating back to around the 17th century.
'Le Colvert' is part of the small 'Le Cormier' holiday complex near to the popular medieval & historical market town of Loches. Situated on the outskirts of the small village of Obterre (has a bar and small shop) on the northern tip of the beautiful ‘Brenne Parc Naturel Regional’, known as the “Land of a Thousand Lakes”. The whole area is simply a wildlife and bird-watchers paradise in this relatively unspoiled area of the Berry / South Touraine area of the Loire Valley.
It is very easy to relax in this tranquil and peaceful setting but with many local attractions to keep you occupied. We are ideally located for the famous chateaux of the Loire, vineyards, churches, museums, Zoos, Futuroscope and, of course, surrounded by sleepy medieval towns and villages. The rolling landscape and quiet roads makes it ideal for cycling and walking enthusiasts alike.

Summary: Very rural, quiet, excellent for cycling on road or track. Plenty of good walks and Obterre is an excellent location for short drives to explore the local villages and towns. Mike and Cath made us very welcome and we very much enjoyed our stay

Summary: Had a great stay, lovely place & setting. Really friendly & welcoming too. First time driving an electric car & really fast chargers everywhere in France. Lovely restaurant nearby in Clere du Bois. Would definitely return to this property. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Summary: We had a lovely relaxing week at Le Cormier. It is quiet and rural, with pretty local walks and close to La Brenne natural park. Lovely and clean and equipped kitchen.

Summary: Ah! How lovely place, very peacefull and cleaned! If you want a stay in the heart of a soothing countryside, surrounded by generous nature and animals, this is the perfect place. Cath & Mike are very good hosts and really lovely. The cottage is comfortable, pleasant and there is all the necessary equipment to feel at home. Many thanks to Cath & Mike for everything :D
