Summary: Very old motor hotel. I honestly do not think any maintenance is done here. Think of one of those places where the owners are older and don't have the energy to do any work and are also unwilling to pay for it. As a result, everything just slowly degrades: grout falls out of the shower, paint faded/chipped/flat out missing, electrical outlets worn out, towels worn out, parking lot full of holes, grounds overrun with weeds. On the plus side the owners are fun to talk with and provide you with all the local folklore and recommendations you could ever want. Bottom line? This is Idaho Springs after all. If you want the comfort/cleanliness/newness of a standard motel you will not be staying here. You will drive another hour to Denver or one of the ski towns. If you are ok with a (relatively) inexpensive room, and can keep your expectations LOW, the Columbine is on ok place for a short stay.

Summary: Easy check in! Great owner who was very friendly. The hotel was centrally located in Idaho Springs. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The room decor was eclectic but fun! We would definitely stay there again!

Summary: We had a lovely two-night stay at the Columbine Inn in Idaho Springs! Check-in was a breeze and the rooms were absolutely adorable—clean, cozy, and full of charm. The inn has a quaint, welcoming vibe and the location couldn't be better—close to downtown, restaurants, and all the local attractions. The only small downside was that the air conditioner didn’t cool quite as well as we’d hoped, but overall, it didn’t take away from our enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cute and convenient place to stay in town!

Summary: Very nice owner. Could use some updating. For the most part was pretty clean. Did have quite a few dust bunnies hanging around the bathroom ceiling. Our AC did not work-but, it was cool enough at night to keep the room somewhat comfortable. I don’t know that I would stay there again with other options-but, for a “mom and pop” business-it was ok.

Summary: The owner was very nice and accommodating. Had a great stay for the weekend. Property is very beautiful and clean. I highly recommend this book place to everyone.

Summary: The dude who checked me in was really nice. He explained some of the rooms' satellite TV doesn't work well, and I said I didn't care, but then realized he'd given me no wifi password. Too late, but I had one bar from the room, so I doubt it would have worked anyways. If those things matter to you, they may be dealbreakers. Otherwise, the place was a touch on the old side, but beds were good, shower worked, things were clean, and it did the job. We just needed it for a night. Idaho Springs is charming enough too, with a nice two blocks or so of shops, plenty of restaurant options (have breakfast at Main Street Restaurant!), and nice enough views

Summary: My boyfriend and I needed a budget place to stay on a ski trip, and Columbine Inn met our expectations! Cleanliness is always on the top of our list and we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the carpets are dated and are a little worn and stained, and there were a few spots on linens, but overall, the bathroom and rest of the unit were clean and comfortable! Things were quiet during our stay, albeit one pesky branch scraping on a window, but that's an easy fix. We would be happy to visit Columbine Inn again.
