Enjoy a magical time at The LakeStar Retreat at beautiful Gotham Bay, along the Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway. Your charming private suite is on an exclusive private floor of this owner occupied three story custom home. There are two covered decks, and majestic lake views from all rooms. The suite has a "kitchenette" with microwave, frig, toaster oven and Keurig coffee maker and outdoor grill. There is a private entrance to your separate floor too. So comfortable queen bed with the sound of the lake lapping you to sleep. And on those cold days, let your bare feet enjoy the radiant heated floor. And, there is a separate room with an indoor/outdoor fireplace and TV for your exclusive use. Enjoy the outdoor shower too along with the hot tub! Spend your peaceful days down at the dock where you can park your boat, fish for small mouth bass and swim. There is a 3 minute rustic path down to the lake (requires some hiking skills). Several local hiking and biking options close by. Famous resort golf course, shopping and restaurants only 25 minutes to charming Coeur d 'Alene. Laundry too!
We do want to note that we are on a hillside, and that regular use of indoor and/or exterior stairs is necessary.
NOTE ON WINTER VISITS: If you choose to visit us when there is snow and/or ice on the ground, we require that you have at minimum an all wheel drive and some experience driving on snow and ice. The road close to us is always kept open. Our access road is also always kept open, and can be difficult at times without all wheel drive and some experience driving on snow/ice. In addition, we often close the private entrance to your suite for safety, but not to worry, as the front door leads immediately to your suite.

Summary: This place is just what the Dr ordered. Fabulous lake views and comfortable accommodations. The owners were kind and available for any questions, and the hot tub is perfect for looking out over the lake and enjoying a glass of wine.

Summary: Our overall stay was wonderful and just the getaway we needed. The property and home is very beautiful and the hosts are terrific. I should have done better research because I did not know they were going to be upstairs during our visit. We live in a beautiful home alone in Spokane and was looking for a quiet, and private getaway with a hot tub. The hot tub is great! Another little complaint to note, there’s no tv in the bedroom so if you want to lay in bed and watch a movie you cannot. You must de dressed and down the hallway in a tv room. Again, we were still pleased and enjoyed the stay. I will do better research next time but good for folks to know. Thank you.

Summary: We had a nice time at this stay - it’s a beautiful property and was very clean. However, this listing is quite misleading. The stay is in the lower level of the hosts’ home and is not entirely private / segregated. If this is the type of stay you are hosting, it should be extremely clear on the listing so people know what they are paying for. We were looking for seclusion on the lake and instead were instructed to enter through the front door of the hosts’ home. VRBO should not allow this type of false advertising, especially given that their whole marketing strategy is that they “only offer private stays.”

Summary: My wife and I have wanted to visit family in Idaho but wanted our own getaway. We found this place and we couldn’t have been happier. The host promptly answered our question prior to our arrival he gave suggestions if we wanted to stop for dinner prior to our arrival. He meet us when we arrived and give us a tour of the property. It is nestled on a hillside overlooking the lake. There is a view from every room including the bathroom. There are 2 decks to relax outside and you are a 2 minute walk to a private dock. I’m new to fishing and couldn’t wait to try. I caught many bass, from small to some over 5lbs. I caught my first pike and that was amazing. You’re about a 35 minute drive to Lake Coeur d’elane resort which was busy with shops, restaurants and a long bike/walking trail along the lake. Our favorite day was when we drove to the town of Harrison,where we rode our bike along the lake for a 30 mile round trip. When we got back we enjoyed a nice lunch and then ice cream in the park while watching a live band. The people were friendly and we had a blast. So if you want a great place in a great location where you can enjoy peace and quiet while not being too far from touristy things, this is the place to do it. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

Summary: It is a great property for a couple. Don't expect a lot of kitchen space, but for summer it is ideal with BBQ to cook outside. We enjoyed a living space, both patios and a deck on the lake. My only recommendation for Ted is to do something with wasps. It was impossible to eat outside. On the other note, I would update listening by saying that Wi-Fi is not available. But in general, we had a very relaxing time and fully recharged our social batteries in this quiet and rural area. Ted and Bonnie are great hosts. Thank you both!

Summary: For several decades I’ve dreamt of visiting Lake Coeur d’Alene. This summer my husband and I stayed at Ted and Bonnie’s beautiful lake house retreat for four nights. The setting was gorgeous overlooking the lake through the plentiful windows and from both decks. ALL their amenities were appreciated, plus, the comfortable bed and lounging furniture. They’ve covered every detail for a memorable stay. Ted even added information to help us become familiar with dining opportunities and activities. Our visit was everything I needed it to be!!! I hope to return some day!

Summary: Ted was very kind and helpful; however, he was also respectful of our privacy and barely knew they were there. The house is gorgeous, with amazing views of the lake. Most of the time we utilized their awesome dock and had the best time. Definitely would love to return.
