Positive: The apartment is perfect for two people — very well laid out, modern, and fully equipped with everything you might need. Our host also left us a very complete breakfast kit for our stay, which was such a nice detail. During our stay we had an unusual situation, as Storm Amy hit the area and caused a power outage. Because of that, we couldn’t enjoy the apartment to its full potential. However, Ronnie, our host, came right away to check on us and brought us some food that didn’t need cooking, as well as candles. It was also reassuring to know that she and her partner were living next door in case we needed anything. We stayed for two nights, hoping the power would come back after the first day, but unfortunately it didn’t, so we had to eat out. Given the circumstances, Ronnie kindly gave us £40 to cover dinner at a restaurant. We honestly couldn’t have had a better host — she handled everything with such kindness and care.

Positive: Excellent property. Real home from home. Everything you need. Very comfortable and clean. Lovely welcome basket with breakfast items., shortbread, tea, coffee with milk, jam and butter in fridge. Ronnie, the host, provided clear directions to the property and information with regard to access and keys. Cannot fault stay at all and will definitely stay again.

Positive: Coel Ila is a comfortable, immaculately presented place to stay in a beautiful wee village. It is within a 15-minute drive of Oban and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is in a very quiet and pretty area and feels private without being remote. The owner is very helpful and friendly and had put much thought into making my stay at Coel Ila very comfortable and pleasant. This included a generous welcome pack, which was above and beyond expectations. She also popped over to make sure I had everything I needed. Communication with the owner was excellent from the minute I booked. She is an excellent host who is friendly and helpful. Coel Ila is adjoined to the fanily home but has its own private separate entrance and private decking/ garden area. The decor is modern with good lighting and very modern furnishings, and the accommodation is exceptionally clean. It smells beautiful! It had absolutely everything I needed, from a fully equipped kitchen to easy parking right outside the door. The beautiful private decking overlooking a private garden area was a real treat and got the sun all day long well into the evening. It is sheltered and very comfortable. It's a lovely place to sit out and chill with a glass of wine. Coel Ila also has a large flat screen television in both the living area and bedroom, with streaming services in both. I slept very well for the 4 nights that I was there as the bed was very comfortable and the room was exceptionally quiet. This was my second visit to Coel Ila, and certainly, it won't be my last. Thank you for another fab and restful stay. I truly was in need of such a relaxing break!

Positive: This was a last minute booking for New Year. The host had ensured the accommodation was warm and welcoming. A bottle of Prosecco and treats like shortbread and mince pies had been supplied for us, plus enough essentials for breakfast the next morning. It was spotlessly clean, and many thoughtful details added to the sense of welcome. The bedroom felt cosy and there were phone charging points near the bed. Whilst there aren’t any landscape views from the property, other than the garden, it is located a short walk away from a large beach. I imagine the beach is very busy in summer with holiday camps in the vicinity. As we were there on New Years Day we could see a crowd of New Year swimmers which was fun. We also found some other stunning areas to explore not too far away and we enjoyed some magnificence views on our walks.

Summary: Very comfortable stay in immaculate accommodation.

Positive: Coel Ila is a fabulous couples accommodation minutes walk from a gorgeous beach. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and equipped and as my husband was deer stalking I wished I had taken a bike with me so I could cycle further around the lanes during the days when I had no access to a car. I would highly recommend Coel Ila as it is a lovely place to stay and is in a glorious location

Positive: The property was very clean and well maintained. Milk, orange juice, croissants, butter and preserves were provided for our arrival, The bed was extremely comfortable, and the property was very private.

Negative: The croissant contained marzipan, which could have been fatal for someone with a nut allergy. Some kind of warning might be in order. But that apart, I couldn't fault the property, which was beyond excellent.
