Positive: We had a fantastic week at this studio, the owner was really nice, helped us with all the information about the island. The studio is clean and comfortable, the garden is really beautiful with hummingbirds. The location is perfect, every natural wonders are really close by. Definitely recommend this place.

Positive: We really like the location of the guesthouse with ease of getting into town or out to the sites. We were never far away from it. The garden with deck/patio was nice and our check-in process was super easy. We liked how Magdalena greeted us and helped us relax as soon as we arrived. We requested and paid for breakfast the next morning and then used the local Massy to stock up for the rest of our 4 night stay. Spending overnights near Soufriere is so much better than taking an organized tour down from north of Castries. There's so much to do in the area and the beaches and snorkeling is unmatched. Magdalena's place provided a great value to stay local and explore the area and was very clean. We really appreciated having beach towels and a place to hang up and dry our stuff overnight. The bed was comfy and the AC worked well.

Negative: In the end, there were a few things which affected the quality of our stay. The studio room is about 11x14 feet or about 150 sqft. About 1/3rd of that is taken up with the bathroom and another 1/3rd or more is the bed. There's not a lot of room for luggage and sitting. I think the size is perfectly fine for a solo traveler or younger couples. We didn't sleep that well as they have a rottweiler chained up outside. The dog doesn't seem to bark at guests but will bark at random times at night. The room isn't totally closed off to the outside, even with windows closed. So you definitely hear it barking, a couple times for 30 min straight at 2am. Further, every morning, there's a car that drives through and honks everyone awake between 550am and 615am. You definitely hear this. Then, we had several early mornings where there's heavy footfall and furniture movement right above the bed, from the main house. The kitchen was very small and crowded. We weren't inspired to cook for ourselves. The breakfast prepared for us wasn't a very good value and we found it to be 100% westernized, omelet, bacon, melon, bread, so not much feeling of St. Lucia. We had to bring utensils and mugs from our studio, which meant that oddly, we had to do our own dishes after paying for a prepared breakfast. Water pressure in the bathroom is light but temperature is hot. In the end, the price for the studio is very attractive but we wished we spent a little more for more space, more quiet and more relaxation. We did not really get any unique help from the host for planning or eating anywhere. Unfortunately, our only poor dining experience was one she recommended, Seashell Beach Restaurant. Do NOT go there for anything but maybe a bottle of beer to look at the ocean. All the local spots we found on our own with google reviews were much better.

Positive: Rooms and bathroom were clean. Room was good enough size to accommodate 2 people with enough storage space. Bathroom is spacious. AC worked well, so did the wi-fi. Hosts are nice and very helpful. Garden is very nice and good place to relax. Surrounding area is mixed, part is houses, some not the most aesthetic, but the rest is nature. Views on the surrounding hills are very nice. Mini-buses pass close to the house, so if you do not want to walk from Soufriere you can always take those (in reasonable time of day) and they are affordable.

Negative: Kitchen is rather small/cramped, but it was fine for our needs. If you arrive by foot the entrance from the main road is not obvious, but using the map you will reach the car entrance in about 100m, so not really an issue.

Positive: Magdelana is a wonderful host - warm and welcoming and willing to share lots of tips for getting the best out of your stay on the island. She even showed me how to cook a traditional St Lucian breakfast in her own kitchen. The place was spotlessly clean and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a more authentic island stay.
