Positive: This was by far the most beautiful hotel I've stayed at in the Philippines. The beach is stunning and there are plenty of comfortable lounge areas in the shade. The resort itself was also beautiful - there was clearly so much thought put into the architecture and styling of the buildings. Our room was clean and the bed super comfy. It's a big resort with multiple swimming pools, but it still feels intimate somehow. The staff were all incredibly friendly and professional, and the food was good. It's quite a bit pricier than other resorts in the area, but it was well worth it.

Summary: We'll definitely be back!

Positive: The location was amazing! The beach was clean and the healthiest reef I’ve ever seen was just in front. The snorkeling was excellent. The staff was excellent, and the food was good. It was not crowded, the provided beach chairs and towels and took good care of the property. And rotated the menu. Water was provided in refilled sealed glass bottles. No plastic!!!

Negative: Nothing! It was fabulous, but if you want to shop, you need to go somewhere else, there was no “town” but able to line up transportation.

Positive: Old but good hotel on a beautiful island. Front desk couldn’t solve our problem handsomely but they were attentive all the time.

Negative: There was a party at the facility next door. The management warned us that there will be noise but the noise was unbearable, so we had to change rooms. We had booked one of the best rooms but had to swich to one of the worst. We thought at least they wouldn’t charge us for the problematic night or the room difference but they did just made a small gesture instead.

Positive: A little bit of paradise on a beautiful island. Set right on its own beach with 2 main swimming pools and the main restaurants on the beach too it’s a great place to watch the sunset over the sea. Rooms are functional and tidy and the food is good quality and reasonably priced. Drinks are good with a good alcohol content. The coral area just offshore is good- nothing too exotic, but plenty of fish to see. The people who work here are amazingly well trained in customer service and are a credit to the hotel.

Negative: Minor gripes- but every time you are in a different part of the hotel you have to log into a different internet connection and it’s not very strong in several areas. Also- I love quick service, but sometimes it was a little too quick when ordering food and drink. The food would be ready within 5-10 minutes- sometimes before the drinks arrived! Slow it down a little bit please.

Positive: The resort and the beach are beautiful and breakfast was very good - kudos to the restaurant staff, who were excellent and always ready to help with a smile.

Negative: We weren't given the room we had initially been told was ours (first one on the water, I especially wrote to ask) and as we'd booked many months previously, I expected them to keep to this, but we were given one next to it, which we felt wasn't good enough as I had told them this was for my birthday celebration. The reception staff laughed it off as if it was nothing, which didn't please us at all, but even though we were angry, we decided not to make a fuss and ruin things. The other thing we were upset about was that we had asked ages before if we could book the trip to Apo island and were told that we could book this once there, but this was not the case - it was all booked up until after our departure!! Also, everyone walks on the coral reef as the water is shallow, so a lot of the coral is already dead - so who knows how long the rest will last? We thought the hotel should have an education programme for the locals so they can be taught to protect their own heritage, but they even brought their kids along with fishing nets - to fish in a marine sanctuary!!!
