Summary: The property was well maintained; everything appeared to be brand new or very clean. Japanese artwork around the house added to the experience and gave it the feeling of a real traditional home. The host greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour, using his phone to translate. The only drawback was that the nearby bus to Takeda station comes around once every hour. Overall, excellent for a stay if you plan public transport carefully in advance.

Summary: Perfect location and easy access to parking, you get the feel of local living with a bamboo forests in the backyard. We were meet by the owner who showed us through the house followed by a trip to the supermarket just to settle us in. We slept 7 easy. Location is close to temples and many sights.

Summary: The house is spacious by Japanese standards, it has more than enough beds for our whole family. It has nice Japanese-style furniture and decorations that we really enjoyed. The surrounding bamboo patches are gorgeous. Kitchen utensils are in good condition and we enjoyed cooking our own meals. The only downside is it's a bit far from the train station and there's no direct bus between the train station to this house. It's an easy walk from the train station if you don't have heavy luggage. It's difficult to find a cab service in Kyoto if you don't have a local phone and can't speak Japanese. Grocery stores are a bit far too but there are bus lines between grocery stores to the house. Overall we enjoyed this house very much and will stay here again in the future, now that we know how to navigate.
