Private entry,shared use of the grounds, pool area and hot tub.Only 5 minutes from Montclair, 20 minutes from SFO.Wildlife at your doorstep, hiking and biking trails just steps away.You feel as though you are miles from any city yet just moments away.Unit contains gas fireplace for cozy evenings.
There is bus transportation 1/2 block easy walking distance.
This property is unique in that you don't see any other houses from this property. You can see the views while lying in bed. We are dog friendly as long as the animals do not get up on any of the furniture or bedding.There is wifi so working from home is possible. There is shopping and restaurants within 1 mile. We have repeatedly been told that living here is like staying at a resort.

Summary: Lovely setting fantastic mountain views. Everything we needed for a 3 week stay. Owners were responsive to questions and allowed generous use of the property amenities.

Summary: Cute little in-law quarters that worked out perfectly for my husband and myself and our small dog. Just wish the weather had been a little warmer so we could have enjoyed the beautiful outdoor areas on this property

Summary: Very beautiful, park-like setting. Quiet and private. 50 mile view toward Mt. Diablo without a single house in sight. However, the plumbing is not up to par given the rather pricey nightly rate. You have to push a button and wait a few minutes to get hot water. Doesn't always work the first time and may require repeat attempts. Sewer is on an old septic system and backed up during our stay. We thus left a day early. The owner was very nice about it and refunded the unused night. However, if you expect hassle-free plumbing, look elsewhere.

Summary: The owner was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. The grounds are gorgeous! I would suggest a new housekeeper. The studio was not very clean. Our patio was disheveled. You need new sheets, our sheets were stained, not good for getting into bed at night.

Summary: The grounds and it's facilities is unmatched to any place I've stayed. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves because the other guests were not around. The pool was heated and perfect for a pleasant swim. The dogs roamed around freely and were exhausted by the end of our trip. We were completely relaxed during our stay. Sue and Randy are always so generous and welcoming- they brought us a box of fruits picked from their other property to share with us.

Summary: The view from the apartment (in-law suite) was fabulous, overlooking a large hilly, wooded open space. We arrived after dark and the suite was quite chilly, and the main heater (gas fireplace) was not turned on, quite chilly, & quite difficult to figure out, lacking instructions to increase heat. Additionally, the heater in the bedroom was nonfunctional & thus the back room was uncomfortably cold for quite a while. The hot water heater did not heat quickly & temperature was unmanageable. The wifi was also nonfunctional for the duration of our stay. This being said the proximity to things to do is quite desirable (nearby open recreation areas, parks, & multiple shopping districts), and we did have a lovely trip.

Summary: My wife and I just got back from staying here, and our three nights couldn't have been more relaxing and enjoyable! Sue and Randy are delightful hosts and it's obvious they enjoy having guests at their home. This one-BR unit is tucked under the owners' main house; however it's quite secluded, private and has its own entry so we had no issues with the setup. Sue was responsive to our pre-check-in questions. Finding their place was simple - it's at the end of a long driveway that winds over and down the hill more than 100 yards to a gate. Once through, we parked near the woodpile, and walked up past the main house garage to find the entry door. Check in was easy. The property, a remainder of what was originally a large ranch, is wonderfully private. You're in redwood and oak forest, and the other guest house is barely visible from the living room, screened by trees and across the parking area some distance away. The unit has a "town and country" charm - Cozy, simple but tastefully decorated and appointed. There is a comfortable king memory foam bed in the bedroom. Kitchen counter is in the LR, with the needed herbs, spices, kitchenware and cookware. Appliances are first rate brands, and although not new, they function very well. Just outside the unit is a private patio with its own table and chairs, propane grill and views across tree-covered ridges to Mt. Diablo. The common areas of the property are timeless in design and construction, perfect for casually hanging out. We ambled from pool to hot tub to chaise endlessly throughout the weekend, and enjoyed the outdoor games, hearing the beautiful wind chimes and watching the labs gleefully chasing balls. Sue and Randy were home during the weekend and we got a chance to get to know them and thank them for their hospitality. They're the best!
