Positive: This is a superb location if you are looking for a secret, rural getaway. We loved the walks by the river, and through the woods. The open fire in the lounge with wood and kindling provided was a super touch. The beds were very comfortable and the whole ambience relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook properly in there.

Negative: The bins hadn't been emptied before we arrived. Just a minor point and wouldn't put us off from coming again. One of the electricity sockets in the lounge crackled alarmingly when I plugged in the computer. I reported this and hopefully that will be dealt with. (The other sockets were all fine). The key to the front door was difficult to get out the lock. More irritating than anything as we didn't want to force it and break it.

Positive: The cottage was in beautiful parkland with some lovely walks. The keys were left inside the cottage and all the instructions for the cottage were in a comprehensive folder.

Negative: The cottage facilities were good, but china, cutlery etc were a bit sparse - for instance we only had two table knives, which we reported to the Estate Manager.

Positive: Clean, comfortable property. Lovely drive there, no contact with any staff, clear instructions on check in and check out, pretty much all you need for a short stay.

Negative: No soap, or body wash in the bathrooms so make sure you bring your own. No access to inside of the castle which is a shame - but ultimately, didn't mind as the grounds were so lovely!
