Positive: We loved how well it was cared for and all of the great signs telling the history of the inn and area around it. Plus the signs within the park to get to various places.

Negative: The one thing I’d like to mention is our room had a lot of ladybugs (dead and alive) on the floor and on the walls. While we are nature lovers and understand that this can’t be prevented, perhaps do a quick vacuum of rooms where they come in during the season when they come in or post a sign that says “if there are too many ladybugs, please call the front desk and we’ll send someone to vacuum your carpet.” I’m sure this is nitpicking but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Positive: Location was great with beautiful views! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The staff for the restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! The Inn was very clean and presentable.

Negative: 1.) No elevator to 2nd floors. 2.) The Thermostats in the rooms are very much outdated and didn't seem to have control of the HVAC system. Plus, the fan was very loud. 3.) The Indoor pool is nice but not heated. Not enough chairs to accommodate those not in the pool or spa. Finally, the pool room is definitely showing its age with paint peeling and other noticeable defects. Rooms definitely needs to be upgraded and add a heater to the pool. 4.) Just being picky now but would have been nice to have the south gate open to make access to downtown Madison more accessible.

Positive: The lodge was really nice and view from the balcony room was outstanding.

Negative: Well to make a long story short we upgraded to the balcony room through the lodge because booking.com said they were no rooms available and coming to find out they said booking.com was giving the Inn the wrong dates but that lead to another problem before checking out they had the bill all messed up and way over priced but hopefully we have it taken care of will see by double checking my card tomorrow or the next.

Positive: I believe that the hotel, staff and management did the best they can with what they have to work with with no funds. It needs to be updated. My room was so musty from 40-year-old carpet that we had to go out to the dollar store and buy some Air wick just so we could stay in that room. Now it's clean. Mind you, but it's in severe need of an update The paint is peeling. The wallpaper is peeling. There's a leak at the pool that needs to be fixed in the roof. Maybe it's an old leak but peeled. All the boarding off the ceiling tile needs to be upgraded. The buffet was overpriced. $15.99 for breakfast and you got sausage gravy biscuits, eggs. Maybe some fruit. It's way too much and we could not order off. The menu is buffet only so we went somewhere else outside of Clifton. We enjoyed our hikes there at clifty

Negative: I just find that they need to get the government funding for upgrades updates. The service people were awesome and they did the best they could with what they have.
