Positive: The property was at a great location. If you're new to Tokyo and flying into HND, you can get a one way ticket on the train for a couple dollars. I'd recommend a 72 hour unlimited tokyo metro ticket. This hostel is centrally located, the staff are super welcoming, and there are cool people staying there. There's a nice kitchen and lounge room. The bathrooms are also kept in nice condition.

Negative: Didn't stay long enough ;)

Positive: Convenient location and comfortable. I stayed in the four bed dorm and felt like there was plenty of space. Staff were really friendly and the common area was nice.

Negative: It was a little hard to get the AC to a comfortable temperature. Also would have been nice to not have shoes on in the room.

Positive: Front desk was very accommodating to my communication needs, was prepared ahead of time to convey information clearly in a format I understood. Location was very good, near a train station and many places to drink and eat. Value was solid for a place that's nearby the center of Tokyo. Café on the first floor with a variety of hot and cold drinks available. Bar on BF, good for unwinding after a long day. Only several minutes' walk away from Akihabara.

Negative: Industrial-sized AC machine made sleeping on the top bunk uncomfortable. Had to wrap up tightly under my blanket to stay warm. Roommates (other travelers) were uncommunicative re: adjusting the settings. 3rd floor men's toilet had water(?) on the floors in front of both urinals and in the WC in front of the toilet. I avoided using that room as much as possible and went towards the isolated WC at the other part of the floor.

Positive: Cafe and bar are nice. Maybe just visit for a drink instead of stay here on the weekend.

Negative: What kind of hostel in the price point makes you make your own bed? This isn’t a $6 hostel. They can’t hire someone to do that— even if they need to raise the prices a couple of dollars for that employee? The place feels dirty because many people don’t make the beds because there is a set of sheet on it and it looks made- so many people sleep on that. The hostel neglects the cleaning of the beds because they want to save money from paying a cleaner to make beds. It feels dirty because of this. Also the bathrooms always smelled like urine and need to be cleaned more frequently.

Summary: 5/10 because of dirty feeling for the beds and bathrooms.
