Positive: Excellent countryside location near Bordeaux. Impressive entrance to the castle that boasts a driveway lined with palm trees, all beautifully lit at night. Property was recently fully renovated and is family-run. Great amenities and restaurant, with friendly staff. Large room, comfy bed, and quiet at night too.

Negative: Bathroom had a free-standing tub, I would have preferred a shower, but that was a matter of room availability when I booked it...

Positive: We stayed here on the 20th and 21st June and have to say that it was an amazing hotel. From the moment you turn into the driveway you experienced the wow. We had a warm greeting from reception and enjoyed the pool after checking in. The pool area is very secluded with lots of available sunbeds and shades. The bedroom was beautifully furnished. The breakfast was good and the staff were keen to engage with us even though are French was limited, they all spoke excellent English. On 21st June the hotel had put on a special music gala menu and had arranged for a local group to sing - we felt like VIPs at a special concert. This hotel stay is now in our top 5 special stays. Fabulous. A real chateau.

Positive: Stunning renovated chateaux beautifully fitted out. Well maintained. Good buffet breakfast. Lovely receptionist.

Negative: Our room was in a converted stable. No chairs in room. Paper cups. Room v cold when we arrived and took hours to warm up. We were informed the supposedly excellent restaurant was closed that evening after we had booked and paid. We had to drive 7 minutes to a restaurant.

Positive: This is a lovely place to stay. We are a retired couple who travel in France once a year. We have a playful argument that I prefer on short stays to chose modern branded hotels. They can be soulless but as long as you don’t eat there you hopefully get an air conditioned clean executive room with everything you could want. Great for a one or two night stay. My wife prefers the full culture experience and to stay in chateau’s and we have had the varied experience of wonderful to dusty old and there is no charm in no aircon and finding the plumbing was installed in Louis xiv. lifetime. Anyway this Chateaux stay is in the wonderful bracket. Massive wow factor when you arrive. Friendly helpful staff. Tastefully modernised to have both old and contemporary feel. Our room was in the annex by the main building which looked like a renovated stable block. Excellent room which was spacious, clean, well equipped with four poster bed. Strange that it didn’t have a safe or hair dryer but heyho. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food and service was superb, exceptional. The pool area was lovely and we swam and sunbathed one afternoon in the gardens.
