Positive: Very comfortable stay in a beautiful hamlet and the accomodation was great. The cottage was a converted barn off a lovely cobbled yard and swallows nested in the eaves of the farm buildings. It was very quiet, had lovely views and a nice empty lane to walk our dog along. The water supply and plumbling were good which is often not the case.

Negative: We think it would have been useful if some milk would have been left. Secondly we had some problems with the door lock and the owners were not overly helpful to questions on this and how we disposed of rubbish.

Summary: Overall though it was great base in an idlyllic setting

Positive: Nice little cottage on a farm in a very rural location. Cosy and comfortable. Everything was very clean and it was well equipped. Beds were comfortable. It was in a good location for exploring the local area. Lovely views from the window.

Negative: All the rooms are small, there isn’t really room for four people to sit at the dining table and eat a meal.The beams mean that the property is not really suitable for tall people. Despite loads of messages before our stay reminding us of deposits, check out times and rules etc, no one actually checked in on us while we were there. It is a working farm (and smells like one) so bear this in mind. The description on booking.com is incorrect. It’s not a bungalow and has three bedrooms (not two)Check in time is four not three.

Positive: It was an incredible stay! The farm was absolutely stunning and the owners were so welcoming! My little boy got to play in the courtyard on a ride on tractor, play with the resident cats, safe and gated too! The property was beautiful with character features like beams and barn doors, absolutely stunning! Incredible use of space and the kitchen was compact but had everything you could possibly want and need! We had the most amazing stay!

Negative: Nothing we didn’t like!

Positive: The cottage was beautifully clean and well stocked with crockery and glasses etc, towels and comfy beds! We had 2 dogs with us and although the cottage is small the outside space is a completely enclosed farm courtyard, very well maintained and perfect for the dogs to be outside safely. The location is amazing, 15 mins from Dovedale and some fab local pubs, we have really high quality meals out both nights.

Negative: Sadly we were sent the wrong number for the key safe so when my mum arrived on her own she was stuck outside – a simple accident and all sorted once she had a contact number!

Summary: Very lovely small, cosy and brilliantly located cottage with a big enclosed courtyard
