Positive: If you're looking for an idyllic place to stay, then Church Cottage ticks all the boxes. Only a short visit for us on this occasion, but we genuinely found a place that offered complete relaxation in beautiful surroundings. The owner was so helpful and attentive, as were the staff. Looking forward to our next visit. A huge thank you to all at Suisgill Estate.

Positive: The cottage is in a beautiful, remote location about 7 miles inland from Helmsdale. It's truly stunning, with wild deer galore, some beautiful hiking options, a wide meandering river and a gorgeous waterfall nearby (we took a dip -- chilly but great). The house is really well equipped with pretty much everything you can think of, in a beautiful condition and with great, comfy beds. The wifi (starlink) is also top notch -- although cellphone reception for us was almost non-existent when off the wifi in the area. We had a fantastic stay with our dogs and would happily come back.

Negative: Nothing major as it was an excellent stay. Just two things that come to mind: we couldn't find a hair-dryer (but maybe it was somewhere we didn't see?), and the directions to the cottage once you move inland from Helmsdale were a little confusing. Our advice: drive inland until you see the stone church on your left. The cottage is the same turn.

Positive: Peace and quiet. Wonderful views. Well prepared kitchen (minus scissors), nicely decorated cottage. Small portable lights in the rooms

Negative: Flickering LED lights in bathrpom and upstairs landing. Estate owners' attitude towards gold panning and right to roam.
