4 Bedroom House in Kalispell

Our fully stocked home offers the perfect place for the luxury lake experience. In the tranquility of our lake house, you will enjoy the entire house and private entrance to the lake. Bring your boat or rent our Pontoon boat while having full access to the dock on site. Experience a beautiful sunset in front of Ashley Lake with your family while gathering around the fireplace to roast marshmallows.
The space
Christy’s Cottage is a beautiful custom log home built by the Amish. The house consists of a fully functioning kitchen, two living rooms, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, loft area, laundry room, and game room. Outside, enjoy our grill, patio seating, and the firepit near the lake. The property also has a private dock with a slide and rock-climbing wall. Here you can enjoy swimming, fishing, and other exciting aquatic activities!
The kitchen is equipped with one electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, a fridge with freezer, blender, toaster, and electric griddle. We provide basic kitchen needs, disposable items, and some spices. We love coffee, and know you probably do, too. We have a coffee maker, and provide coffee, filters, sugar and cream, and teas. The tap water is drinkable as it comes from a well. The exit from the kitchen takes you directly to the grill area. The grill can be used with coal or propane (we provide both).
The main living room offers comfortable recliner couches facing the wonderful Ashley Lake. This room connects with the kitchen, master room, and stairs. It also provides an exit to the deck, where the grill is located. In the downstairs living room, you will find a couch, blankets, TV and DVD player, the perfect spot for family movie night!
The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a TV with DVD player, ceiling fan, lamp, and dresser. You can enjoy beautiful sunrises a few steps away from your bed, since the master room has access to the deck, and to its own bathroom. The two rooms downstairs each have a queen-sized bed, lamps, one dresser, and closet. All rooms have a laundry basket. If you are planning for a long stay, we will leave an extra set of sheets.
A sliding door separates the master bedroom from its own bathroom, which has a shower and a small closet. The downstairs bathroom has both a shower and a tub. It connects to the laundry room. Both bathrooms are fully stocked for your basic needs.
We also provide a hair dryer, and beach towels (four in each bathroom) in addition to bathroom towels.
In the loft area you will find a couch with a majestic view of the lake. Here, you will also find a bunk bed and one air mattress, kept in a trunk and complete with a set of sheets.
The laundry room includes a washing machine and a dryer, both functional and ready to use. We provide detergent, softener, and dryer sheets. Here you will also find a fire extinguisher, a first-aid kit, and different sizes of life vests. Cleaning supplies and a basic toolbox will also be here.
We have a game room for you and your children’s enjoyment! Available for your use will be board games for all ages and a foosball table. Both TVs are connected to Dish and the DVD player has Netflix. There is WiFi throughout the house, for which you will find the password in the kitchen. Around the house you will also find landline phones.
Outside, you can enjoy memorable moments around our fireplace. Six chairs and sometimes wooden logs are provided. During the winter we include an ice fishing shanty and will have it all set up with everything you will need for ice fishing during your winter stay!
Watercraft and Water Toys
For your convenience and full enjoyment of the lake, we offer rentals of kayaks, paddle boards, and a pontoon boat. Pontoon has a capacity for 12 people. Each year we update our rental prices to be comparable with other local rental businesses. The major difference here will be the stress-free convenience with no overnight and/or delivery fees! Just ask about the different packages we offer and discounts for multiple toys and renting for your entire stay. We also include a few inflatable toys with the house. This will include some floaters and an inflatable paddle board. The air pump will be downstairs on the built-in cabinets along the wall as you are heading out the door.
Ice Fishing
We just added an ice fishing shanty and will have it all set up for fishing during your winter stay! It will include a chemical toilet, propane heater, 2 ice fishing poles, two ice augers (1 gas and 1 manual auger), two chairs, and a tackle box. Everything you need for ice fishing. We will cut the ice with the auger initially before you arrive. You will have to re-cut the hole during your stay as the ice refreezes. If you want to use live bait, you can buy that at the gas station off HWY 2 on your way up to Ashley Lake. This will be available when the lake freezes, which varies, but is usually between the end of December to the beginning of March.
The Area
Glacier National Park
Glacier is only 50 miles away. This is a must see! One of the most beautiful National Parks out there with numerous hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and everything wild Montana has to offer. I would recommend reserving your tickets into the park in advance. The last couple years, the park had to limit the amount of people entering into the park before 3pm.
Summer Activities
The activities in the summer are limitless. This includes, but not limited to, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, boating, swimming, and multiple national and state parks. If you are planning a trip to the famous Glacier National Park, there are many other exciting activities along the way. Everything from ziplines, hot air balloons, helicopter rides, mazes, and much more. I would highly recommend checking out the Montana Vortex, where gravity defies the laws of physics. Also, being that the house is fairly close to Kalispell, you always could spend the day exploring, shopping, dining, and enjoying all the city has to offer.
Winter Activities
During winter, enjoy our house to the fullest! Stay inside and bask in the warmth from our gas stove and central heating. Enjoy movie nights with your family in the downstairs living room and make use of our game room.
If you are feeling more adventurous in our winter season, you can always take the kids sledding, snowshoeing, or ice fishing in the heated shanty on our property. We do recommend caution around the lake during wintertime, as the lake gets very deep not far from shore.
Nearby outdoor winter attractions, such as ski resorts and areas, include Blacktail Mountain Ski Area (45 miles), Whitefish Mountain Resort (39 miles), and Glacier Nordic Center (33 miles). There are also many areas to cross-country ski or go dog sledging.
Wildlife and Fishing
Ashley Lake is popular for its record-breaking rainbow trout and kokanee salmon, try your luck! Some of the wildlife you may spot during your stay include White-tailed deer, elk, moose, bobcat, Lynx, mountain lion, black bear, grizzly bear, wolverine, badger, eagles, hawks, owls, and various other smaller furry and feathered friends. There is an amazing array of different bird species including a pair of loons that live on the lake!

Guest access:
Arriving at the House
There are two entrances to Ashley Lake. The closest entrance to Kalispell is 5 miles West of Kalispell off HWY 2. There will be a gas station (Kelly Raes) on the northeast corner of HWY 2 and Batavia Ln. You will make a right on Batavia Ln. This road turns into Ashley Lake Rd. It remains paved for the first 5 miles, then turns into a maintained gravel road for the remaining 7 miles to the house. Once you get to the driveway, the house will be on your right, and the large shop/garage will be on the left.
The other entrance is 16 miles west of Kalispell. Although it is a little more mileage from Kalispell, it is the way I would recommend in the winter as it is less curvy and flatter. Here you will take the HYW 2 west to Ashley Lake Rd. Make a right and follow this maintained gravel road for 7.5 miles. You will make a right shortly past the fire station staying on Ashley Lake Rd. Ashley Lake will be on your left side. This road will take you to the house. The house will be on your left and the shop/garage will be on your right.
Both entrances are maintained in the winter. However, I would still recommend 4-wheel drive in the winter because the road can still get icy. Studded tires would not be a bad idea, although I do not believe you will need them if you have 4-wheel with good tires. We plow the driveway before your arrival and if needed during your stay.
Parking and Entering the House:
There is plenty of parking either in front of the house or in front of the large workshop. Once parked and ready to unload, you will have to go down a non-slip 49-step stairwell to get to the house. It is lit at night. Seems daunting, but well worth it once you are in the house on the lake! You will receive your personal entry instructions along with your check-in and check-out instructions a few days before your check-in date.
Morgan and Alma, the owners, are reachable through Vrbo, e-mail, or cellphone for any questions or concerns. We are always happy to help.

Summary: We had a blast staying on Ashley lake. Morgan was very responsive and the cabin was as advertised. They had everything there that you need for the week. Beautiful location !

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean and spacious, and included many useful amenities like movies, games, towels. We loved the porch and outdoor seating areas. Everyone in our party ageing 17 to 70 enjoyed the stay. Although we like to mention that their is only one controller for the Xbox, so we didn't use it, but would have if there was 2.

Summary: Our group (two couples) had a wonderful week-long stay at this gorgeous cabin. We loved cooking in the clean, well-stocked kitchen and relaxing in the den, taking in the views of the lake, mountains, and resident eagle population. On walks we frequently saw deer and other wildlife tracks. Four-wheel drive vehicle access into town and back during the snow was no problem -- the county diligently maintains Ashley Lake Road and Morgan kept the driveway plowed. We truly appreciated that Morgan stayed in communication with us throughout the stay as deep winter weather set in; we stayed warm and cozy with no problems. There are many thoughtful touches to this property such as warm throw blankets in the seating areas and plenty of games to enjoy. I'm sure this cabin is a perfect summer getaway, but it's also amazing in winter - you won't be disappointed.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay as always. We are unsure whether this is 4or 5 years. Hope to return next year. This cabin fits our needs perfectly!

Summary: This cabin is wonderful and even nicer than the photos! There is great indoor space and plenty of room for a family to spread out, have privacy but also share time together. The kitchen is very well appointed and has everything you need! There is great deck space. The dock is amazing. Super fun slide and wall with deep water to jump and dive in. The ability to also rent the pontoon boat from the owners is really convenient. And super nice! We appreciated the welcome goodies as well as the little things like toiletries in the bathroom. Highly recommend!

Summary: Our family had a wonderful stay. There is plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the view of the lake whether it was on the dock, on the massive deck, or at the firepit. The kitchen was well stocked and the home is very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: My family (wife and two kids plus in laws) stayed in July 2023, and we had a wonderful time. The home was in great condition, the views were very nice, and we felt that it was correctly represented in the listing. A couple of things. First, they say the road is rough and the last three miles are indeed that. We have a 4x4 pickup so no real issue for us but just be aware. Second, the stairs down from parking to the home are a workout. Not such a big deal for us but if you have mobility issues, get some help going down. Overall, it was pretty much ideal for us. The floating dock was a lot of fun for our kids, the outdoor dining was really nice in the evenings, and it never got too hot in the house either. The hosts answered any questions we had very quickly and it seems they take good care of the property and don't demand too much of you when you're packing up to leave. In all, I would highly recommend this property. We would definitely go again (and probably will).

Summary: Great property with wonderful amenities and incredible views along with great comfort throughout the entire home. Can’t wait to come back for a summer visit
Kathleen N. Sep 3, 2022 12:20:22 AM
Summary: We loved our stay in this beautiful log home. The highlight was the slide on the dock into beautiful Ashley lake ,and the decks. Well equipped with all sorts of supplies and we ordered grocery delivery when we ran out of food. One problem was the fan wasn’t working in LR so loft area for sleeping was too hot. But kids slept on the lower level couches. We spent most of the day in the water which was warmish and so clear and ate every dinner outside on the deck. And the kids enjoyed the hockey game.
