Positive: Loved the location and the incredible views. Met the owner, it’s not often you get to meet the property owner.

Negative: Sadly the chef was ill when we visited. But had some good recommend pubs in the area.

Summary: Really enjoyed our stay, staff in particular from the local village made it for us.

Positive: Staff members were very friendly especially Richard who seemed to be the staff .The location was good close to Berwick and other Scottish Border Locations.

Negative: The room was on the 3rd floor and very much the dog room .For a supposed 4 star hotel the bedroom and bathroom were very basic .The hotel was empty apart from us and we were disappointed not to be offered an upgrade.Although we do appreciate only certain rooms were available with a dog . We were also hoping to have an evening meal as it was our Anniversary but on arrival we were advised that the restaurant was closed.

Summary: Great Staff .Shame about the Hotel.

Positive: This is a lovely traditional country house hotel. I received a very warm welcome when I arrived and very attentive service throughout my stay. My room was exceptionally comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was very prettily presented and the evening meal was delicious. The garden and grounds are perfect for a short stroll or a quiet, contemplative seat with breathtaking views over the Cheviots.

Negative: There is nothing to dislike.

Summary: Excellent and reliably traditional stay here with a warm welcome.

Positive: Breakfast excellent. Richard was an excellent host with right balance of friendliness and efficiency. Communal areas very comfortable and relaxing with tasteful furnishings and very clean.

Negative: Room 3 was a little cramped and the furnishings a bit tired. The rattan chair was damaged . Having said that it was the cheapest room available, but a freshen up would not be too expensive and make a significant first impression impact, I believe.

Positive: Richard and staff are was amazing, breakfast delicious and place v comfortable. Noise of fire doors a little disturbing but that may have been thoughtless guests. Would only change toast to not packaged but that’s being picky as the place is so warm and deserves lots of visitors.
