Summary: Room had a million ants and the smell all over is terrible. They missed room cleaning one day and housekeping was kicking us out even during the check out grace period before 11:30. Not as good as before.

Summary: First visit to Cheeca was 2008. The property grounds are still gorgeous and the staff still lovely BUT the room and facilities are not what you would expect of a resort of this caliber and reputation. There was visible grime in our room, on walls, floorboards, mirrors, light switches and damaged wood on surfaces, cracked light switches, an unusable floor lamp that could not reach any outlet, etc. Servicing the room was very basic, beds were made but nothing tidied or restocked appropriately. We had a wheelchair-dependent member of our party and the elevator was down for the majority of our stay; we weren’t offered a room change or workaround. Cheeca is still lovely BUT it is no longer the resort experience that it once was nor does it qualify for the rates it still demands.

Summary: The rooms were nice and the resort itself was a very beautiful place. The smell however from the rotting seaweed made it almost impossible to enjoy many of the outdoor activities. We kept trying to book and speak with someone about the sunset cruise and no one was ever available to assist. We ended up going to a different location to do the sunset cruise. No one would respond from the spa. We tried calling, no one ever answered the phone. I emailed them even before out trip and never got a response. When we finally were able talk with someone after going to the spa, they said there was nothing available, even though individual spots were showing available online. This was out 20 year Anniversary celebration and we were very disappointed with the lack of customer service and availability for the things that were advertised as amenities at this resort.

Summary: I recently stayed at Cheeca Lodge in Suite 730. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return, but there were a few things worth noting. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and well designed. The only cleanliness issue I noticed was a few hairs left in the bathtub. There were several maintenance issues. The elevator was extremely hot and made concerning noises, the ice machine at the bottom of our building was out of service, and the ice maker in the suite’s kitchen freezer didn’t work, so we had to go to another building for ice. The resort grounds are beautiful, but the two main pools were packed during our stay. The beach was also covered in seaweed, and the smell made it less enjoyable. We spent most of our time at the adult pool, which was much more relaxing, though seating is limited and many chairs are reserved for cabanas, so get there early. Food and drinks were a highlight. The adult pool bar serves food, and the turkey club sandwich was excellent. The main bar had a great atmosphere and stayed open late, which we appreciated. The par-3 golf course was a fun bonus, and free club rentals are included in the daily resort fee. Just don’t expect a traditional golf experience. The greens are not greens lol. One of the best parts of the resort is its location. It’s close to everything, and the complimentary shuttle within a 2-mile radius is a great perk. Despite a few maintenance issues and crowded amenities, we had a great stay overall and would definitely return.

Summary: It’s very a friendly and helpful staff. The grounds are well maintained.

Summary: Bathrooms with mold. Room’s rugs dirty, bed and ceiling fans with dust. Food was 3 stars. TERRIBLE service, except for the lady at check-in.. At 8:30 a.m., we went to reserve 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas. We saw that everything around us was already taken. We went to have breakfast, and when we came back, we saw the staff clearing away our towels, clothes, and the kids’ milk and water bottles to give the chairs to other guests. They said they have a policy: every 30 minutes, if they didn’t see anyone in the chair, they’d remove the items to make room for someone else. We couldn’t relax by the pool; we had to keep checking the clock every 30 mins.
