Summary: One week in March 2023. Excellent property, well equipped and comfortable. At this time of year, not much is open in Issigeac the Market is still there on the Sunday, interesting to walk out of the front door directly into the Market! Plenty to do a see in the area.

Summary: We were absolutely delighted to find that our gite ticked all the boxes and was in fact bigger than we expected. A special 'WOW' for the bathroom !! Although I only live an hour and a half from Issigeac, friends from England and I wanted a 'girly' few days not far from Bergerac airport. We decided on Issigeac and could not have chosen better. The gite was brilliant, could not have been better placed, a couple of steps walk from restaurants and shops. The village is charming and pretty with a photo shot at every turn. The people in the restaurants, shops and bars were so welcoming and friendly (certain other villages could take notes !). Although in October, the sun did not get to the courtyard, it was very warm out there and we spent many happy moments, reading, playing cards, and enjoying the odd glass or two. All in all we highly recommend and Issigeac and certainly the lovely house.

Summary: In a quiet medieval city with an excellent Sunday market and, in summer, a very pleasant night market, this two-story townhouse is a comfortable, renovated place from which to explore so much medieval history around the Dordogne. Though most areas are a distance on small roads, we drove to and visited Bordeaux, Saint-Γ‰milion, the Ferme de AndrevΓas (a family foie gras farm) and the truffle museum in Sorges, the Lascaux cave/museum (Lascaux IV), the Roque-Gageac (a village on the Dordogne below a cliff, with short river cruises), ChΓ’teau des Milandes, ChΓ’teau Castlenaud (with a museum of medieval warfare), ChΓ’teau de Beynac, and ChΓ’teau de Monbazillac (sweet white wine like Sauterne). Here is the heart of medieval villages, bastide towns, the Hundred Years War and the French War of Religions. It's a photogenic, friendly area to visit

Summary: Only 15 minutes drive from the airport and you are in the most beautiful medieval village in the Dordogne! Parking was free and easy to find. This medieval house has had a great makeover and was very comfortable. The downstairs remained cool all day which was a godsend in the extreme week. The locals were very friendly and welcoming. Lots going on at the weekends. We had 2 musical evenings and the Sunday market was excellent. We visited all the pretty local bastides and chateaus and spent a couple of days in Sarlat. We highly recommend this area for experiencing the relaxed french way of life.

Summary: We stayed in this house in the medieval town of Issigeac for two weeks in June. It is an old house, beautifully remodeled, with thick stone walls and ancient wooden beams on the ceiling. The spaces are roomy, the kitchen and the bathroom are fully functional. The house is located in the center of this small town on a very peaceful street aptly called Rue de la Paix. The town, located in an agricultural region, is small and charming with stores and several excellent restaurants. There is no gas station but you can charge your electric vehicle! The house is located close to the church with its bells, as a typical french clock, announcing the full hour and then, two minutes later, repeating the same. We were a bit afraid that our sleep would be interrupted by the church bells but we slept like a log. In fact the bells do not ring between 11 pm and 7 am; who ever thought of that! There is much to see in the area of Bergerac, castles, bastides, wineries, and a paper mill. About an hour away are Sarlat, Lascaux, Beynac and the scenic Dordogne river with its boat rides and canoes. We had a wonderful time. Un grand merci.

Summary: We really enjoyed our six week stay in this lovely old house. An ideal location and just steps away from the Sunday market. Comfortable, warm and very homely - and with a private courtyard . The only negative was the condition of the little road outside. No 13 is currently the only inhabited property and the buildings and road are neglected - and full of pigeon droppings.

Summary: This house on a quiet lane just behind the village church is a gem. Massive ceiling beams from the 13th (?) century, tiled floors, up-to-date fully equipped kitchen, TV with Netflix, washer, etc. Totally comfortable. Super clean. Highly recommend.
