Summary: We had a fantastic stay at this apartment. The location in the old fort is unique - getting in and out through the gates to the fort was interesting the first time - we did not believe the GPS! The apartment was very well looked after and made a great base for exploring the Minho Valley (the views from the apartment look up the valley). Would recommend strongly.

Summary: My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Sr Morais's apartment in Valence in the Spring of 2013. The apartment, in an 18th century building, has been expertly renovated and is very comfortable and well equipped. It is situated in a quiet area with little passing traffic during the day and hardly any after 6 pm, and has a splendid view over the hills of the Minho.Valenca itself is a fascinating town, built within an old fort, and you can spend happy hours just wandering around. There are plenty of restaurants within a short walk of the apartment, and a large supermarket about 15 minutes walk away. If you want to explore further afield, a half-hour walk will take you to Tuy, and twenty minute will get you to the station for trains to towns to the south of Valenca. Finally, Sr Morais, the owner, is very helpful, as is his local representative. Will we go back? Certainly - we can hardly wait.
