Positive: The room was clean and nicely decorated. The property has many amenities. The location is perfect if you have a boat, but a little far from town by foot.

Negative: The property tries to be digital but the tools didn’t function properly, such as their virtual assistant that didn’t respond for hours and info pages that didn’t load with the QR codes provided in room.

Summary: A nice property but not as accommodating as expected.

Positive: The shuttle drivers were both excellent! I liked the fire pit areas. The entertainment on Sunday night was nice. I also liked the water aerobics on Tuesday morning.

Negative: Breakfast was off site. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room and an ice machine in our building. The outside deck could have used a little privacy as well.

Summary: We had a great time and hope to come back next year.

Positive: We stayed at Champlin's because of the marina and because it was outside the downtown area on Great Salt Pond. If you love boats, this is the place to stay. The restaurant was fabulous with a great menu. The chef is excellent. Entrees are more upscale and veer away from the more standard fish, potatoes and cole slaw that is more typical of beach community restaurants. We ate there both nights we stayed at Champlin's. Hats off to the bartender as well. The mixed drinks were excellent. Many activities for families. And they provide continuous shuttle service to the downtown area.

Negative: The rooms were advertised as renovated which they are. The bathroom, especially, was nicely renovated. But renovation can't hide the older infrastructure like the AC that made so much noise that we had to turn it off at night. I rated the hotel value as low because we expected better accommodation given the extremely high rate we paid. And we didn't appreciate the barrage of daily emails prior to our arrival trying to upsell us. Would we stay there again...most likely given the location, marina, and especially, restaurant. But hopefully off season when the rates are lower.
