3 Bedroom House in Queens, Westfield

Welcome Home!
Fantastic wooden house with high-quality equipment right on the lake in the central lake of Nova Scotia! New building 2018! Functional, high-quality equipment. More photos will be online shortly.
There are many vacation homes in the world, but if you are looking for the extraordinary, the Dean Lake Chalet in Canada is the right address.
Furnished with a high quality with attention to detail, located directly on a lake area and of its design certainly ideal for well-being. The vacation can start directly at the house.
The Dean Lake Chalet in Southwest Country Style convinces above all with its high functionality and well thought-out room layout. The complete equipment is at a high level (including Washer and dryer, TV with DVD player, microwave, dishwasher, Weber grill, canoe, kayak etc.).
In the house there are a total of two bedrooms and another room which can be used as a library or bedroom. There is also a living room in the chalet and a large terrace outside. In the cozy, open living-dining-kitchen area on the ground floor there is a wood stove for the colder seasons. A highlight is certainly the large terrace that runs around the house on both sides. From the house you have direct access to the terrace and a panoramic lake view. The sunsets are unforgettable.
When building the chalet, sustainability was important and many building materials were used directly from the property, for example the natural stone wall behind the stove was created with stones from the property or the outside facade and the wooden element inside are made of wood from the trees that fell to create the access road had to be.
A sundeck is right on the water. Canoes, kayaks, charcoal grills, fishing equipment and an extensive portfolio with lots of information and restaurant tips are available free of charge. You can start many activities directly from the house.

LOCATION
The chalet stands on a 270,000 mΒ² natural lake plot and has more than 2,500 m of private waterfront. Seven private islands are also included.
From Halifax International Airport (which is flown to from Germany by Condor from April to October, for example), it is about two hours to the Dean Lake Chalet. Beforehand you will pass Bridgewater, where there are several large supermarkets and a small shopping mall. Likewise, up to 15 minutes from the house you can reach Caledonia, where there is a supermarket, a gas station, a cafΓ© / restaurant, a liquor store, a post office, a bank, and much more. This short distance between pure nature and shopping is rather rare for Canadian standards.
The location of the Dean Lake Chalet is particularly ideal for everyone who wants to discover southern Nova Scotia from here. It is only about 45 minutes to the cities of Liverpool and Bridgewater on the south coast or to the Bay of Fundy. It is just under 60 minutes to the UNESCO World Heritage city of "Lunenburg". The Kejimkujik National Park is only 20 minutes away by car and Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is at least 1.5 hours away.
lake
Dean Lake is perhaps one of the most beautiful lakes in Nova Scotia. It goes directly into the somewhat larger Mc Gowan Lake, in which there are other small islands. The lake conveys a real Canada feeling, because the shore is hardly built on: pure nature!
We recommend an extensive canoe and kayak tour, which is available to our guests to discover the interconnected lakes. The many small islands offer the perfect place to take a break in between. There is even a picnic bench on one of the seven private islands that belong to the property.
Fortunately, you will hardly find noisy motor boats, jet skis or even seaplanes. From the sundeck and from the house you have a beautiful lake view and can calmly enjoy the day on the water. In summer the water is warm enough to swim and in winter the lake is often frozen over.
wildlife
Due to the distance of approx. 12 km as the crow flies to Kejimkujik National Park, the wildlife and animal density is high. Since the cottage is also surrounded by nature, with a little luck you can spot white-tailed deer, raccoon, skunk or porcupine in the forest. Squirrels and chipmunks come to the terrace. At the lake you will also find the well-known bald eagles, Canada geese or the specially protected loons, which are among the ice divers and are depicted on the Canadian one-dollar coin.
HOUSE ACTIVITIES:
You can start many activities directly from the house. There is a lot to discover on the large property and in the immediate vicinity.
WALKS
In total there are almost 2 km of private paths on the property. Explore the area.
FISHING
There are many fishing opportunities here. Be sure to get a fishing license "Fishing License" beforehand. B. in Caledonia ..
SMALL HIKING (approx. 4 km)
FAST HIKING (10 km)
Walk to the Medway Rapids in Albany New.
LARGE TUPPER LAKE HIKING - page 7 (14 km)
A nice trail around Tupper Lake. Enjoy nature. About halfway there is a picnic bench and public access to the lake with swimming. Give yourself a break before starting the rest of the way.
Kayak and canoe
Explore the Dean Lake and Mc Gowan Lake area by kayak and canoe. A total of four lakes are connected and can be reached directly from the house.
TIP: Excursion by kayak and canoe to the private island belonging to the property. A large, comfortable picnic table invites you to linger here.
SWIM
Dean Lake invites you to swim in many places.
EVENINGS AND NIGHTS
Make yourself comfortable at the house and watch the starry sky. In good weather you can even see the Milky Way.
WINTER TIP
In winter when snow has fallen, the walks and hikes around the house are particularly fun. There is plenty of wood for cozy evenings around the fireplace.
* Walks can be shortened by approx. 3 km on request. Simply drive your car to the property entrance and use the parking space there.
EXCURSIONS:
Excursion options: - Kejimkujik National Park (hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing or canoeing) - Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Site, 3-hour drive)-Sail trips with the Bluenose II) - Shelburne (historical site) - Fundy Bay (world's largest tidal range: 20 meters) - Digby Neck (first-class election observation trips) - Halifax (historic town center, large wooden promenade, fortress, interesting museums (e.g. B. We would be happy to send all prospective tenants a high-quality brochure of the house with destinations in the cottage and in the area.

Summary: Although somewhat off of the beaten path, the Chalet was definitely worth the effort. Clean, comfortable, excellent view and amenities. I highly recommend Deans Lake Chalet.

Summary: We loved our stay at this house. It is clean and had everything you need for the stay. The location right next to a lake is awesome. We took plenty kajak and kanu tours on the lake with and enjoyed every meal on the nice patio.

Summary: As well as being very conveniently located near the national park, this chalet is wonderfully positioned by a secluded lake for canoeing, sunset or shooting star watching. The house is spotless and includes all modern equipment and facilities. Stefan is a fantastic host, who takes great care of his house as well as of his guests! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, but now we have a great place to come back to!

Summary: Words can't convey how incredible our visit to the Chalet was. The property is located on a quiet lake with beautiful natural surroundings. The kitchen was well equipped for most any chef's creations, the beds were very comfortable, and the recreational gear was greatly appreciated. Communication with the host was quick and easy, and he was very gracious in discussing options for outings and restaurants. It's quite clear that the host invests a lot of time and pride in this property.

Summary: We loved this house. It is so beautifully built and taken care of. We loved the isolation, being able to hear the frogs at night and see other wildlife during the day. The central location is great for exploring different parts of Nova Scotia. We will definitely stay here again for future visits.

Summary: Beautiful chalet, very clean and new, well equipped with all necessities and a few nice extra touches like a beautiful wood stove, convection oven, stand mixer, canoe/kayaks, outdoor shower (though it was way too cold at this time of year for us to try it!) The location is amazing: beautiful, remote, quiet, peaceful, yet only a short drive from Kejimkujik Nayional Park. Also a nice network of trails on the huge property makes it easy to submerge yourself in nature’s beauty while staying within walking distance from the chalet. The sunsets on the lake were breathtakingly beautiful! Our host Stefan was very friendly and went out of his way to connect with us to ensure we had the best time possible, providing suggestions and tips. Five well-earned stars!! We would love to come back one day for another stay, perhaps with warmer weather to enjoy the lake even more!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Dean Lake Chalet. It's a beautiful, well-appointed, and very comfortable home away from home, set in the midst of lovely, serene nature. We spent a lot of time canoeing and kayaking and were so glad those options were available to us - we saw so much wildlife this way. We also loved the centrality of the location - it was easy to take day trips to places like Digby and Lunenberg. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was beautiful and every detail was thought of, and the large deck was a great place to eat breakfast and watch sunsets over the lake. Loved hearing loons on quiet evenings. Stefan (the owner) and Rick (the property caretaker) were extremely helpful and provided lots of great information about the area - we had more ideas about things to do than time to accomplish them, so we'll just have to come back some day!
Helen R. Aug 20, 2023 04:22:37 PM
Summary: Amazing place! We all loved it.

Summary: Gorgeous location with lots of peace and quiet.
