Positive: One of the most lovely places I’ve ever stayed! Where to start…. The location …the end of the road to paradise!! The beautiful beach set in a stunning cove was about 100 meters away. The grounds were immaculate & quiet …with everything a few paces away… like the pool or the bar both of which were incredibly peaceful. The staff were amazing… they were always attentive & couldn’t have been more friendly… I could rave about the cocktails for pages! The food was great & abundant ( we chose half board) .. we could eat whenever suited us… the spread of food was incredible. The room was lovely with everything you need for a simple natural experience & luckily it had very efficient air conditioning. Very clean & nice layout with a small bathroom & separate shower . ( the toilet is open into the room so one person often took a morning stroll or early swim) Free range Tortoises & chickens …cats & dogs greeted us most mornings. If I could give it 11 or more out of 10 I would. Even the drive to get there is an adventure to remember. Special place… special people.

Negative: Nothing … perhaps located down a very very steep hill which isn’t easy to drive & a killer to walk up could put people off but as the saying goes…no pain no gain!

Negative: We’ll start by saying Kabak Beach is beautiful and we will definitely be back! However, unfortunately not to Chakra Hotel. My boyfriend and I opted for Chakra because of the cute photos of the yurts. We were aware we were paying (quite a high price compared to other places) for the novelty of staying in these traditional yurts so were not surprised or put off when we arrived and it smelt damp and there was sap growing on the inside of the walls and the shower didn’t work well. We were just excited about the peaceful and remote setting and the proximity to the beach. Our breakfast was beautiful and we really appreciated it. So too was the meal we had on the final night. However, cocktails were quite insistently pushed upon us and although we would never usually drink cocktails, out of politeness we accepted. Considering the prices of the beers and food on the menu, we assumed the cocktails we were being offered would be a similarly reasonable price. When we were checking out, after a pleasant trip, the owner demanded 3520 TL for the 4 cocktails we had drank overall. When I questioned this, thinking there was an honest mistake, he said “ok I’ll only charge you 3000”. We were shocked and felt we had been intentionally taken advantage of, despite being one of the only two couples staying there. All in all, I think Chakra is a tourist trap under the guise of a laid back place to stay. Come to Kabak, but don’t stay at Chakra. Kabak is too beautiful to leave feeling like your welcome was ingenuous.

Positive: If you want to visit Turkey for a nice relaxing chill out, avoiding the bright lights of the major resorts, and you're happy to spend time with no mental stimulation other than nature (and it has it in abundance), then this is the spot. Very healthy food served by the adjoining restaurant and all the staff are very friendly with the pinnacle being Cagri (the main host) who had a beaming smile every morning and made me feel very welcome. The hut was a little small for me at 188cm (6'2") but everything I needed was there, all spotlessly clean and a lovely pool 10 metres from the room with several chill out platforms at different levels in the trees or sunken into the ground. Oh, and the traditional Turkish breakfast? The entire platter was delicious but the olives and honey were exceptional. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Summary: Does it what it says on the tin. I arrived very stressed and left three days later totally relaxed.

Positive: The breakfast and dinner was great. Very generous serves and obviously home-cooked. The staff and owners were just lovely people. We enjoyed the quiet, warm evenings and feeling that everybody wanted to ensure we had a lovely time.

Negative: Wifi was not reliable which I don't think was their problem. It would have been great to have at least one window in the yurts. Nothing else to comment on!

Summary: A very relaxing and quiet holiday in simple and clean accommodation wth great staff!
