Positive: The location is perfect within walking distance to some lovely restaurants and a huge car park opposite. The chateau is stunning - beautifully decorated and furnished. It’s spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and windows that open! The bedding, towels and dressing gowns were all great quality. One of the best features of the room was the coffee machine! Great coffee! We were given a menu choice for breakfast which was extensive. We ordered the night before and had an option for the time and location for breakfast! When we came down it was ready spot on time and beautifully presented. Above all else what makes this a special stay are the owners; they went above and beyond helped me with booking a restaurant rang the hospital for me because I needed a doctor appointment. Nothing was too much trouble and they are just a lovely family.
Negative: Nothing!
Summary: Perfect stay with perfect hosts

Positive: The location is excellent with free parking just outside. We were welcomed by the young couple who own and operate the chateau, and were fortunate enough to be their only guests that evening. We had access to a lovely sitting room, the garden and the on-site spa, and there were some lovely touches like a refreshing welcome drink and fresh flowers. Our bedroom was comfortable and well equipped. A real bonus was the availabilty of an excellent top class meal, prepared to order, on a Sunday evening. Breakfast was equally good. There is a lovely relaxed feel to this place, which comes from the owners' excellent rapport with guests and their ability to be always available, but never intrusive
Negative: Maybe it's just us, but we found the sitting room and dining room a bit chilly in the evening.
Summary: A memorable stay in a lovely chateau

Positive: Charming property with original features and an enterprising young couple developing the business. Good breakfast.
Negative: We missed out on the spa because we misheard ‘do you want to use the spa in the morning?’ as ‘do you want to use the bar in the morning? Otherwise, no complaints
Summary: A jewel with interesting history above historic Partenay.
