Positive: Pretty much everything; such a charming place that was so authentically old France. Paul is a naturally lovely host, the welcome and communication was first class.

Negative: Maybe some local cheese for breakfast would have been lovely

Negative: We were on bikes and it was not easy to get to the wonderful cycling routes in the region. But once we got to them, they were outstanding.

Positive: A classic 'chateau experience', hosted by the delightful Paul and Homer, the dog. This experience feels like staying in a private home, that is beautifully hosted. We arrived later than planned (traffic) and had an excellent dinner. It was delicious and fairly priced. Our room was a delight, with fabulous quirky antique furniture and a lovely bathroom. Relaxed, child and dog-friendly, just off the motorway. Great stop for the drive back from the South of France. Amazing breakfast included and served on the terrace.

Positive: Steeped in history. Very dog friendly. Close to a lake for morning walk. Staff were welcoming. Food was delicious.

Negative: It does need a lot of work doing to it so expect rustic but it was completely charming and we would definitely stay again. We were in a very large room that slept at least 4.

Positive: This is the third time we have stayed at the Chateau. Extremely helpful and friendly staff and very accommodating with our dogs who loved the two donkeys in the lower garden. A very rustic chateau with lots of interesting pieces and rooms throughout. Highly recommended 👍 Great breakfast outside in the morning and beautifully presented by host Maurice

Positive: Breakfast was really good. The room and bathroom were very nice. Convenient safe parking. The part of the castle that is accessible is authentic, if not eclectic. The donkeys out back were amusing. We were only guests.

Negative: There is not much to do in the immediate area. The town appeared to be mostly shuttered up and almost abandoned. We stayed 2 nights and did not find a restaurant that looked inviting or that was even open. Couldn't find the bakery that was advertised. We hiked the grounds back to the river but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Building and grounds were in need of renovation. It has the potential to be very nice.

Summary: OK place but disappointing experience overall because no town or restaurants.

Positive: We had a wonderful weekend at the castle. The owners managed to perfectly maintain the balance of authenticity and modern comfort. There are several walking paths around the castle, I recommend walking along them. The view of the castle is simply fantastic. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Negative: Everything was great. The Internet connection was not very good, but I think that in such a place it is not needed.
