2 Bedroom Cabin in Hill City

Western Sky Cabin is a 2 level, 2 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms.
The main level includes a living/dining area with vaulted ceiling, bedroom, bathroom, and fire stove to keep your group cozy on those cooler nights. There are plenty of seats around the table to fit everyone. Step out onto the deck from the main entrance and head down the flight of steps where you will find a gas grill and seating.
The lower level includes one bedroom, two bathrooms, and a spacious living room area with sectional couch, TV, and carpet flooring. There are 2 private entrances to access the lower level.
Western Sky Cabin is non-pet friendly. (Service Animals are allowed). If we discoverer an undeclared animal in the cabin and/or excessive dog hair. There will be a $200 fee added onto your bill.
This cabin is 100% NON-SMOKING/VAPING (No exceptions) Should you smoke/vape indoors, there will be a $200.00 fee that would be added to your bill.
The Mickelson Trail runs right by our property.
There is free Wi-Fi. (cell service & Wi-Fi is limited due to the rural area we are located in).
There is not a washer/dryer unit in this cabin.
Western Sky Cabin is summer rental only. (May-mid September).
This property will be closed for the season starting September 19th, 2025.

Summary: We had a great stay on June 21 through June 23rd at this awesome property. It was my Mom, sister and I. My Mom is in her 80's and the top floor was exceptionally well setup for her to move around. Lift up recliner, walk in shower. Maybe one small step up on the porch. Highly recommend if there are mobility concerns. The downstairs was great for my sister & I. Two queens in one big room, two bathrooms. Just a few minutes outside of Hill City. Matthew was a great host. Thanks so much.

Summary: The Western Sky Cabin is a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for a place in the hills of Hill City! Beautiful setting about 4 miles from Hill City, lovely cabin, horses grazing just outside, so peaceful. Matthew has thought of everything to provide a comfortable stay, and he met us upon arrival to show us the cabin and amenities. 20-30 minutes away from Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and so much to see and do in town. We could easily text and email, but phone service wasn’t available in that hilly area. I would come back here again!

Summary: We recently spent three wonderful days at the Western Sky Cabin. Beautiful location just a few miles from Hill City and the Mikelson Trail pretty much in our backyard. Enjoyed hiking the area as well. Matthew is an awesome host! We knew we would have a comfortable stay the minute we met him! The cabin was very clean and well supplied. Chances are good we'll be back next year!
