Positive: The location was stunning in the Umbrian hills. The castle and accommodation have been renovated in a really tasteful way with excellent amenities. The food (both dinner and breakfast) were of a very high quality and good value. The views from the terrace bar were breathtaking. The suite we stayed in was very tastefully decorated and 'cosy' in feel (not a modern business hotel!) with good amenities and very quiet.

Negative: If I was being really picky I would say that for a hotel of this excellent quality, I would have liked a coffee machine in the room (high-quality teas were in the room, but only Nescafe instant coffee!).

Positive: The breakfast was excellent. Extremely proficient and lovely waiters as was the one dinner we had The communal spaces with video showing the development, art galleries, church and general interest in the redevelopment.

Positive: It was amazing. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, from the reception to the room service. The room was spacious and comfortable. There’s no air conditioning, but we were lucky with the weather, so I can’t say how it would be in very hot or cold conditions. The location in an ancient village is truly unique, with lovely exhibitions in the hotel, and we even enjoyed a beautiful piano concert they hosted in the church at the estate. Note that there are quite a lot of stairs, so it may not be ideal for guests with mobility issues.
