Escape to Cast Away and enjoy your own private waterfront getaway with dock. By land, Cast Away is located just minutes from Oriental, the Sailing Capital of North Carolina and just across the water from River Dunes. By sea, Cast Away is located just off the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the open fishing waters of the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound.
Enjoy lasting water views from this elevated coastal home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The main living area is located on the second floor and has an open concept floor plan with living room, kitchen, dining area, full bath with shower, third bedroom with queen bed, and day room with washer and dryer. The kitchen has beautiful granite counter tops, large island with stools, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, drip coffee maker and toaster oven. There is also a dining area with adjacent screened porch and open deck with gas grill where endless hours will be spent watching the water and wildlife. Upstairs you will find the main bedroom with king size bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. Upstairs will also have a shared bath that includes a shower and soaking tub. During your stay you will be able to use the closed in ground floor garage area where you and your guests can enjoy a friendly game of ping pong.
This property features a concrete pier with plenty of room to tie up your boat. There is a ramp less than 1 mile away - Talk about convenient! There are two kayaks for you to use while exploring the local waters and creeks. Kids will enjoy fishing right from the dock as well! Water depth is 3-4 feet at end of pier. Please know that the boat and boat lift are not included or available for guest use.

Summary: Exceeded my expectations, even after reading reviews and looking at listing pictures. The place is beautiful and well maintained. I’ve stayed any many rentals and overall this may be my favorite. So clean, so well-organized, had zero issues with anything. SO peaceful. My favorite part was listening to the sound of the wind through the trees and the wind chimes. We will be back 100%.

Summary: We loved our stay at this property! The listing was 100% accurate. We worked remotely for the two weeks we were there and had no problem with internet. The living spaces were great, but the screened-in porch is the star of the show! Such a beautiful setting and our dogs loved being able to run in the yard. We travelled from out of state so observing the weather and changing river levels was fascinating! We had lovely days when we spent time kayaking with the provided gear and loved sitting on the dock watching the wildlife too. Because we were there for 14 days, we took a weekend side trip to Wilmington and the ocean beaches which was also fun. We also attended a Friday night concert at the waterfront park in New Bern. We ate dinner in Oriental at Silos and Toucan Grill and enjoyed ice cream at The Bean. The Piggly Wiggly grocery story had everything we needed, and Food Lion was just a bit further away. I highly recommend this property!

Summary: Our stay at the Cast Away was exactly as described; A Water Front Getaway! The house was perfect and the dock was enjoyed both day and night. We loved walking around Oriental's docks and neighborhoods.

Summary: We just returned, and it was everything that we imagined and wanted we arrived to blue crabs in the crab pot (Which by the way is already in the water hanging off the dock). My son caught fish every single day! The kayaking was so Peaceful. We loved the little town and even took the ferry down to the crystal coast and saw the wild horses. My favorite place was Screened in porch with the beautiful breeze, wind, chimes chirping, birds, and smell of the saltwater.

Summary: This home is in a lovely community. It's quiet and relaxing, and the home is well-appointed. My husband is a kayak fisherman and launched his kayak from the nearby ramp, and he had quite a bit of good fishing while we were there.
