Positive: The host was amazing. She was a very sweet and helpful lady. She tried to make my stay comfortable and made breakfast. She even waited longer for me to wake up. The property is right by the main square. Also, the bed was comfortable. The Wifi was very good.

Negative: I found a few little spiders, but I think it’s normal for a city in the jungle.

Summary: Fast wifi, great host, comfortable room, great location!

Positive: I spent 4 nights at Casona don Lucas and had what felt like an authentic Peruvian experience in a spacious home that has been in the family for almost 120 years. The owner, Patricia, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable in, taking the time to show me around and make me feel like a visiting family member. Her hospitality truly made all the difference. Every morning, Eloise delighted me with a different, homemade breakfast, which I looked forward to each day. The variety of delicious Peruvian dishes, served in the lovely patio garden, was a perfect way to start the day. As a solo traveler, I appreciated the central location of the guesthouse, making it easy to walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, and shops. It was lively, as expected from being in the center, but I didn’t mind the hustle and bustle—it was part of the charm of staying in such a vibrant location. I felt very safe during my stay and enjoyed the authenticity of the place. The rooms were very clean and comfortable; the air-conditioning and eco-friendly touches added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a welcoming, authentic stay in Tarapoto with a personal touch. I’ll definitely be back!

Positive: We enjoyed the friendly staff, Eloisa was attentive and friendly, always going out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Patricia is an A1 host. We definitely stay again at Casona Don Lucas.

Negative: There wasn't anything that we didn't like. It was clean, great, and a safe location in Tarapoto downtown, two blocks from the main square. Despite its location, once we were inside, we didn't hear the outside noise due to the noise proof windows I would like to see a Tv set in each room, since there was only one tv set in the lobby. Other than that, our stay was wonderful.
