Summary: We had a nice stay at Case Playa, great location, right on the beach, with an excellent view at the sea. The owner, Inocenzzo, was very helpful, waiting for us on the check in day, even though we were very late and made our check in fast and easy. There was something that I was not happy with at all and here I don't blame the owner, but Hotels.com. On our check out day, we were requested by the host to pay an additional cost of 125 euros, 80 euros as cleaning fee and 45 euros as a local fee. I was very surprised about it, but checking on the confirmation papers, somewhere on the last page, written small, there was these fees mentioned. I really think that Hotels.com should make these fees very visible, or add them in the final price, so when you decide to pay for a reservation, you know what you pay for.

Summary: We were after an apartment to use as a base for exploring Sicily and Casa Vancanze playa looked perfect. Due to only having one review on expedia we had to rely on the photographs and were very pleased to find that the apartment was exactly, if not better than expected. The owner Innocenzo and partner Grace were very welcoming and made us feel at home and the added bonus was that they also own and run an excellent restaurant on the same site. We had our evening meals there nearly every night as the food was so good and the atmosphere was very relaxing and many locals ate there which shows how good the food is. There is a beach just in front of the hotel which looks very nice but we are not beach people so can only comment on how it looked. The apartments are located just outside of the quiet town of Balestrate so I would recommend hiring a car from the airport as there are many great things to see if you are prepared to do a bit of driving.
