Positive: This is a hidden gem in the North of Bohol. Even my wife’s family, who live in nearby Clarin, didn’t know about it! If you’re looking for a traditional Filipino guest house I would certainly recommend Casas de Ruumar. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. All have air-con and a floor-standing fan. There are also mosquito screens fitted to all the windows which is a great touch. The gardens here are beautiful, the pool is crystal clear and regularly cleaned, and the breakfast is amazing! I’ve not had such a great breakfast anywhere else in the Philippines other than at five star hotels in the city. Regarding the staff, both owners Rudi and Maria are perfect hosts, and cannot do enough for you. They are welcoming and super friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Their helper, Donna, is a delight. She was on hand to aid us whenever we needed it and always with a beautiful smile. We will definitely be returning here whenever we are in Clarin, and I would recommend this place to anyone travelling around Bohol.
Negative: There’s nothing I didn’t like about Casas de Ruumar. But one thing I would say to anyone coming here by car, don’t bring a big car, as although there is parking inside the property grounds, it is quite tricky if you have a large car.

Positive: Lovely place to stay, very cosy, very clean and run by exceptional hosts and staff. Very helpful, very accommodating and very pleasant people. We'll not just stay here again in the area, we look forward to it! Maria provided quality food, made with passion and good sized portions, well presented and tasty 😋

Positive: The accommodation was basic but good. What really made the stay for me was the hospitality shown by Rudy and Maria. Maria especially went above and beyond in welcoming us, offering even to give us some of her own dinner when our ferry was delayed by about 5 hours and we arrived late, and then arranging a local driver with car for a daylong tour to see the main highlights Bohol has to offer (Chocolate Hills, Lobuk River cruise, tarsiers, and old churches). Very thoughtfully, she arranged for a tuk-tuk to take us to the ferry terminal when we departed without the need to request this. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting and staying here.
Negative: Nothing - everything was great.

Positive: Fantastic place! Easy and quick communication with the owners, who are always helpful and ready to assist with any needs. The option to rent a scooter on-site is a great convenience, and they also helped organize transport to and from the accommodation. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, and the atmosphere was warm and homely. The pool was clean, and the owners were incredibly friendly, making us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended!
