Positive: Comfortable accommodation in a rustic building. We especially liked the garden area in the back, the pool and the woodstove. The breakfast was great, and the host was very friendly and informative about the local culture and sights.

Positive: A truly special place where you can feel the authenticity of Portugal in every detail. Casa Romaria in Brotas is more than just accommodation, it’s an experience. Maria, the owner, is the heart of this place. She manages everything on her own and does it with a rare level of care and warmth. From the very first moment, she makes you feel at home. The hand-painted wooden furniture gives the house a unique charm, each piece feels like it tells a story, creating a warm, traditional and very relaxing atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious; homemade, using simple, local ingredients. You can truly feel the passion behind it. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and an authentic experience, this is the perfect place. I wholeheartedly recommend it and would definitely come back.

Positive: Super stopover in an Alentejo village. Comfortable, quiet & access to a pool. Kitchen facilities for those who want them. Efficient aircon. Good continental breakfast.
Negative: Not a complaint but be aware that this is a traditional village not designed for parking & easy footpath access. You will find a space, but need to be reasonably sure-footed to get to the accommodation & up the stairs

Positive: We liked the character of the property and Hamlet. Beds were very comfortable.
Negative: Didn't like the bathroom being on ground floor so had to come down steep narrow stairs at night for the toilet. Needed to supply tea bags and coffee in the kitchen. Was the only place that didn't provide anything on our entire 7 day trip around Portugal. Needs to provide more than 2 wine glasses for a 3 bedroom unit.
