Travel Purpose: business

Positive: This is an isolated villa within a very large garden/yard located at the end of a long, narrow and poorly maintained road. It provides an outstanding experience of isolation/solitude and quietness, away from everything. There is a very nice pool and a very expansive garden with grass, trees and play areas that would be very fun for younger kids. The house itself has 5 separated double bedrooms as well as some extra beds/sofas so can accommodate large groups, and would be fun for large families or close groups. The kitchen and dining areas are spacious and reasonably equipped to allow one to cook for a large group and eat together either inside or outside. There is airconditioning in the upper floor rooms (4/5 rooms). There is easy parking for 3-4 cars, more would require some careful coordination. The place was reasonably clean and the furnishings and utensils or in ok shape. The house has not been cleared of most of the belongings of the family that used to live in it (not only furniture but also books, documents and many other tidbits) which you have to decide if you like or not. It gives a very authentic atmosphere but also a feeling of living in someone else's house.

Negative: There are many things that can be improved: * The road to the house is very rough. It is passable in any normal vehicle (rentals included) but you have to drive carefully, slowly, and have some trust in your ability to traverse a rough road. I guess people with cars with very low clearance may be uncomfortable. The road is public so not sure if that can be fixed by the owners. * The sets of linen and especially towels provided are very poor compared to what you expect in a luxury house. The towels are almost as thin as sheets. This is really sub-standard. * It would be good to provide more amenities for the price: decent amount of toilet paper, cleaning equipments (like dishwasher tablets) etc. * When the agent brought us to the house he mentioned mosquitos. Man! there are so many. It would be good to provide some repellent on site so people can protect themselves until they buy their own. * Some of the facilities need to be maintained: there is a petanque lane at the bottom of the garden, but the balls and the lanes itself are falling apart. There are also table tennis rackets and a net - but no table! too bad. * There was a strange rat on the yard one evening. Perhaps it came out of the woods ... but still perhaps get someone to catch and remove it. * I would have cleared from the house many of the old belongings (personal things like hair combs, broken toys, old documents), it feels strange to rent a property that feels like the owners may come back any second. * new blankets! This property can be really outstanding, it needs just a bit more work.
