Positive: The breakfast was okay, meaning that it was varied and plentiful. The location is excellent, very central, hence close to the main attractions of the city, museums, book shops, public transport.

Negative: I didn’t like several things. 1. You can’t have warm water if they have maximum occupancy. At least, this is what I was told by the receptionist when I called to ask why water was not warm. I was told that the pension was full and everyone returned to their rooms in the same time so this is the reason. Hilarious, imo 2. The outside windows from the room are old and so, to keep them still on a windy day you need to stuck them in a sort of stopper. There was nothing wrong with this since the inner windows were modern so the room was insulated, but I just wanted to air the room and so I asked the receptionist to help me open the outside windows. Not only that she commented on my request, when I returned to room later, both rows of windows were completely shut. I do not get, am I not supposed to air the room ? The room was extra stuffy and warm throughout the night. 3. Theoretically the guests of the hotel have 10% off the food in their restaurant, Wagner Loft. Practically, nobody is telling you about this. We went one evening to Wagner loft, after being set just near the entrance and ignored for good minutes, when the waitress came to take the order, I mentioned the discount and she in a completely disrespectful manner asked that I go to the reception to get a ticket for the discount. 4. No accessibility for elders. 5. To pretend it’s clean, do not look under the bed (we had a twin room and instead of a bed there were two mattresses one on top of the other). Under these mattresses the dust hasn’t been cleaned in months. To sum up, your money are not respected.

Positive: This hotel was perfect for what we needed! A taste of the medieval charm of Braşov right in the centre of the square. If you’re looking for a spacious room with all the basics to base yourself to explore locally, that is full of character then this would be my pick! You can walk out straight onto the square (which was just lovely at Christmas when the market was there). I also liked the festive ambience of Wagner’s Loft for food and drinks.

Negative: We didn’t love breakfast, but having stayed at other hotels in the same region, I think it was standard local breakfast fare and not our family’s personal preference. The food was not bad, just not our preference. We had some evening meals in there too which were fantastic!
