Positive: The house is remote, with 100% privacy. There are beautiful nature walks close to the house. Roque de los Muchachos is close by, so you can do stargazing there without having to drive a long way home. The house was very cosy and clean with all the facilities you might need and also many little details to make you feel welcome and comfortable. It was the most cosy house we've ever rented. Bed with excellent mattress and pillows. Well worth a visit.
Negative: In January the house can be very cold because of the altitude > 1000m. The kitchen and dining area don't have heaters, but the rest of the house does. It was not a huge problem for us, but we were happy to have brought some warm sweaters and beanies for cooking and eating. It's a great location for seeing the North of the island, but to get to the South of the Taburiente crater you need to consider 1.5h of 'intense' driving. The second half of our trip we spend in a house South of the crater. Which was a good combination to see the whole island.

Maria’s thoughtfulness and loving attention to detail made my stay feel like home on a paradise island. I could never have imagined how spectacular the experience would be; if I had, I would have stayed far longer than five nights! The entire property radiates tranquility, day and night. I especially enjoyed sitting outside, soaking in the serene beauty and stillness of nature. The location was fantastic—perfect for exploring endless trails, panoramic views, and unforgettable adventures in every direction. There were wonderful nearby places to eat and even a small store with a gas station, but it’s worth noting that this is a remote part of the island. You might encounter a few little forest animals, though they were completely harmless and only added to the natural charm. Maria’s warmth truly made all the difference. The soft, luxurious bathrobe she provided was a thoughtful touch—especially since I hadn’t packed my own. Picking fresh apples from the trees out back was heavenly. Enjoying her mother’s homemade liqueur with some dark chocolate was one of the best surprises ever, and much appreciated late at night just before bed- living and loving the dream. 💭 ♥️😍 The bed was so comfortable that I slept better than I have in ages—peaceful sleep in such an environment felt restorative and rare. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, and the property’s location made it easy to access everything I could have dreamed of along the stunning North Coast.

Positive: This is my second time I stay here and for me it is the perfect house if you want to disconnect from the noise of the modern world. The location is just breathtaking. The house basically is in the middle of nowhere and I have no words to describe how cozy and peaceful everything was. The house has a lot of lovely details, bed was very comfortable and Maria is such a friendly and wonderful host. Can't wait to come back here again!
Negative: There was literally nothing we didn't like. Pure perfection.

Positive: Beautiful house in the far north of the island. More or less in the middle of nowhere! Amazing views to the “ocean of clouds” beneath. Many beautiful hikes nearby. The house is very comfy and cosy. Good internet and nice to watch the Olympics in Spanish on the TV 😀
Negative: I was traveling solo and the house is far from everything, so one definitely needs a car hire. Driving takes longer than expected on the island, because of extremely curvy roads!

Positive: Casa Julian was an incredible place to stay. It's very close to different hiking trails. There's everything in the house that we needed. There was also a super nice fireplace. Maria was extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this place for everyone who would like to be surrounded by nature. We loved it! Thank you, Maria!

Negative: It gets a little cold in the evenings, but there is an electric radiator. Nearest grocery store and restaurants are somewhat distant
