A charming and spacious two bedroom hill top cottage with a private pool overlooking the ‘Serra’ of Tavira. This is an inviting and very secluded retreat into the unspoilt hinterland. Casa do Burrinho is an ideal location for couples sharing and families, sleeping up to 4 people.
Casa do Burrinho is a much loved and well cared for holiday home. The entrance hall has a beautifully restored ornamental bread oven and leads into the comfortable living room. The kitchen and dining room area, on the other side of the hall, is fully equipped and has seating for 6 people. There is a double, en-suite, bedroom located some steps down from the kitchen.
The master bedroom occupies the entire first floor and has a charming Juliet balcony with far reaching views into the valley. The master bedroom is en suite and also has a dressing room. One can access the pool side area from the first floor landing. The pool area can also be accessed from the kitchen dining area.
Enjoy the various levelled terraces, and a large covered poolside area, ideal for al-fresco dining and watching the children have fun in the pool! The garden has an orchard including orange, plum, grapefruit, lemon, fig, olive, almond and carob trees….which you can help yourself to!
Six quality sun loungers with mattresses deck the terrace around the pool and there are tables and chairs available, under a 4 m2 covered patio. Sun umbrellas are provided, also for using on the beach.
The pool measures 8.5 m x 4.5 m and has a Roman end with steps leading into a shallow end of 1m leading to a deep end of 2.4 m. Casa do Burrinho has a freshwater pool with chlorine cleaning system. The pool is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional.
Children are welcome – please always supervise children of all ages around the pool area. There is a terrace with a low stone wall beside the parking area.
We can supply two cots and high chairs if required. A chest of toys and games are also provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.
There are some steps between rooms and terraces, which may not be suitable for elderly or infirm people.

Summary: Great place, massive pool, definitely recommend, the only thing is a supermarket is just over 20 minutes so you need to plan ahead, food wise. Great place for somebody who enjoys the quietness, it was so quiet with the bird noises that you could hear every time a car went by! Also great the fact that there was more than a bathroom per room as we were sharing with friends

Summary: We (family of four, with two kids 10 and 12) stayed at the house for a week and just loved it. The house is very spacious and has an interesting split-level architecture with open ceilings with which gives both parents and children privacy. We were fascinated by the different views: from each room you have a different and always beautiful view. Even directly from the shower in the blue bathroom. The pool is huge (estimated 12x6 meters) and therefore perfect for swimming. The planting around the house is done carefully and ranging from Oleander and palm trees via olive trees to cacti and bougainvilleas. The location is a bit remote - you need at least 30 minutes to get to a beach. However one is rewarded with a nice drive through beautiful hills and absolute quietness.

Summary: Realy nice big house with all comfort you need during your holiday. The house only thing we missed (because it was 45 degrees) was an airco. Never the less the temperature the sleeping room on the groundfloor was still pretty OK compared to the temperatures out side. The Pool was cleaned twice a week and because the Poolguy came really early in the morning we did not see him. If you are going to stay in this house you really need a car, because the nearest shop is a 10-15 minute drive.

Summary: Even though Casa do Burrinho is in the middle of nowhere, my satnav lead me directly to the house with no problems. The house is larger and nicer than the photos. It was very clean and kitted with every think you need. The kitchen has everything including an electric citrus juicer and dishwasher. The house has plenty of towels and is well stocked with toilet roll and hand soap. The front and back outside areas are very pretty with plenty of chairs and sun loungers. Warning the swimming pool is ice cold even in the afternoon, but very clean (pool guy comes twice a week). My only criticism about the property is the bad Wi-Fi. The house uses a mobile router but has to be located at the very top of the house to get any signal, phone signal is also poor. The rental agency was very helpful leading up to and during our stay, would definitely recommend this property.
