Positive: The property is a lovely old Madeiran house with lots of space both inside and out. The owner Miguel was very helpful and left us so much food and drink we had a job getting through it!!

Negative: We thought we were getting 3 bathrooms but it was 2 full bathrooms and a toilet, this isn’t clear on the details.

Positive: Beautiful house right next to the ocean, you will fall asleep to the sound of the waves. We especially enjoyed the garden, having breakfast on one of the little terraces or a drink on the balcony watching the ocean. The house has a lot of space, is very clean, and has everything you need as a family to stay. Maria and Miguel sent a lot of great recommendations and surprised us with a welcome baskets and little pastries, even fish to barbecue, which made our stay unforgettable.

Positive: Unforgettable stay in Madeira, in the Casa da Madalena do Mar. Immediately after booking, we contacted the owners Maria and Miguel, whose hospitality is truly exceptional. Maria and Miguel provided us with information about Madeira and their home in Madalena do Mar and when we arrived there was a comprehensive welcome pack with wine, milk, bread, eggs from their own chickens, mangoes, bananas, Kakis from their own garden etc. ready for us. Maria and Miguel were very attentive during our stay in their house, whether we had everything and if they could do anything for us. And they were immediately available via WhatsApp during the whole holiday. Including a fish caught by Miguel himself which we couldn't enjoy because of the short time we were there. Next time Miguel :) The kitchen is perfectly equipped as is the rest of the house. You can also use the washing machine. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are large and comfortable. You can get extra towels and bath towels from the wardrobe. Everything is simple, accessible, comfortable to use and very clean. The house also offers its own covered parking space free of charge. The location of the house is ideal for many hiking trails, water activities (Beach, Snorkeling, Diving, Windsurfing), Cycling, and to reach Funchal (approx. 40 minutes) or other smaller towns. Within walking distance there are very good quality restaurants with typical Madeira and continental food. The location of the house is right in front of the sea with a wonderful view over the ocean from the terrace. At night and in the morning you can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach, which makes it unforgettable! We highly recommend their house! Thank you very much Maria and Miguel for the wonderful time we were able to spend in your house, it was an unforgettable experience!!! Belkis & Carlos
