Positive: Amazing craftsmanship. That deserves a 10+ Aside from artistry of mosaic work the renovation of the cave is also amazing. Every physical detail was attended to

Negative: We have been traveling for the past three months and I never met a host who did not try to speak a little English . She immediately said “no English no French no Italian and pushed the translator towards me. I always try and speak a little native language and being able to resort to a translator is very helpful, but her lack of even wanting to learn any English was very disconcerting. She is running an international business and she knows that English is the accepted common language in Europe. Arriving at the property the driveway was so steep the brand new car engine smoked and I couldn’t park on driveway. You have to start from a standstill as there is no room to get a “running start” I Had to let car cool for 1 hr. There are no stairs to climb steep driveway. Coming down was extremely perilous . Owners didn’t offer to help with carrying bags even though it was obvious we were experiencing difficulty. We are 2 retired ladies, and she and her husband offered no help. Owner was quite concerned I had not filled in paperwork online even though I showed her there were no messages from her even on WhatsApp . Again, her lack of English language made things worse. The electrical breaker was off for all appliances and outlets even though lights and dwelling were running. We had to find the breaker box and figure out what was going on. Toilet water would not stop running all night. we had to disconnect toilet water at night and reconnected in the morning. We would not return. It’s hard for me to write such a review as 99% of my reviews are 9–10 and very praiseworthy. I love to praise the hard work of hosts who are genuinely concerned with providing a beautiful experience. unfortunately,this host did not provide such an opportunity.

Positive: Beautiful mosaics inside and outside of this unique apartment. It was spotlessly clean and had all the equipment and utensils that you could possibly need. Excellent heating in the cold winter night we spent there. The owners obviously put their guests first and it shows in the details that other rentals don’t provide. Marina was an excellent hostess, even though we didn’t meet!

Negative: We have a large, heavy vehicle so the allocated parking on a steep slope wasn’t suitable (a smaller car would be fine). However, we did find another spot a few meters away so all good!

Summary: A unique and beautifully presented apart in historic Guadix.

Positive: The cave property was unique to us and the experience was very enjoyable. The mosaic in the garden area was beautiful.

Negative: Everything was fine. One small point was access up the dusty slope was a bit tricky but ultimately manageable.
