Positive: Grazie mille to Susanna and Massimo (did I spell correctly?) who are FABULOUS hosts! They have an incredibly beautiful and peaceful property in a stunning location. They welcomed us warmly, prepared delicious food from breakfast to dinner, graciously accommodating our request for meat, though they are vegetarians. They offered itinerary suggestions, made phone calls to help us with logistics, served breakfast on a breathtaking terrace at whatever time we requested and were always willing to help in a gracious, friendly manner. There is a beautiful, relaxed, poetic vibe to the place. We stayed for 4 nights and wish we had stayed longer. Our hearts remain with Casa Ciccone in Petterano Sul Gizio and we hope to return soon!

Summary: Our stay was lost-in-time sublime, magical - the most beautiful hotel experience of our lives.

Positive: Casa Cicone is well situated off the main road coming into Pettorano Sul Gizio with free accessible parking. It is also up hill from the Parco Archeologia, where you can hear the Gizio river from our room and the terrace with beautiful views of the mountain and valley. We arrived early and were kindly greeted and accommodated. The room is well appointed and while without AC, we were comfortable with the ceiling fan and open windows in August. The breakfast was convenient satisfying. There is a food market next door available for made to order sandwiches as well as sit down for meat and cheese boards wine and beer. Passing through Porto San Nicola, it’s a quick walk into the the historic center.
Summary: A comfortable base for a visit to Pettorano Sul Gizio and other nearby villages in Abruzzo. Very friendly staff and nice

Positive: Casa Cicone exceeded our every expectation. The location was wonderful, our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was beyond delicious. Breakfast on the terrace was an extraordinary experience my wife and I will long remember for both the amazing views and the even more amazing food. Suzanna, the owner's wife, prepared absolutely the best breakfasts we have ever eaten in Italy. Casa Cicone was so magical, my wife and I are already planning our return to this property.
Negative: Typical for Itay, their mattresses are less comfortable than in the USA.
